overpriced
Nice room, clean, nice pool

everything was ok, but this hotel is so overpriced! food, room, drinks, etc. all overpriced. do not use the hotel taxi, just walk 100 yards to the street and catch a cab instantly for 1/3 the price!

don't use the hotel taxi's!

Nice loaction hotel with good swimming pool

first of all, if you want to have a breakfast in the hotel, you should check your reservation with or with out breakfast.
most of agoda promotion dose not serve a breakfast.
also, the casion in the hotel is quite disappointed. there are few people and only 6~7 tables in the casino.
however, cozy and huge bed and nice view points of manila bay is the best in manila.
Shopping Tip:
SM mall of Asia is near by the hotel.
SM mall has a lot of shops and brands, also ice link !
It is a great spot to enjoy your holiday

the saturday night buffet must be among the best in the world. expensive, about us per person without alcohol. and we could only eat so much .. but what a fabulous selection.
service and staff 24/7 was excellent. no free internet in the room and very expensive to upgrade, so we used the free wifi in the bar area.
tv was not lcd.
Hotel Feature Tip:
While expensive, the Saturday night buffet is superb.

personly think sofitel is the best hotel in philippine. i have booked superior room but they gave me upgrade special for a just little money to stay in suite. and that suite was awesome!! had the best view of the manila bay and the pool. the buffet was the one of the best buffet i had. many food to choose from.

Beautiful hotel w spacious rooms and top amenities

tried to upsell during checkin which is unusual for a five star. you pay heavily for everything - even ice to your room. good news is you almost get what you pay for. over-all an enjoyable and relaxing stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Ask for metered taxis as they're 1/3 the price. You need to take taxis everywhere.

Fantastic views and huge rooms

stayed at the sofitel philippine plaza last june 3-6, 2011 with my family and 2 other japanese guests.
we loved their buffet choices, delicious and worth the money you spend, which is a bit pricey for philippine standards. the pool is wonderful, and so are the sunsets right on manila bay. close to mall of asia, which is a plus for shoppers. only problem is the long procedure upon check jn but checking out was a breeze.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The hotel is close to Museums and parks , not just the mall. Ask the hotel for tours and such.

Great Backyard but room carpet old
"Backyard setting is awesome...where you can enjoy the sunset at the same time, enjoy the pool and the live band...

The customer service was not the best in town. I called several times the front desk from our room to check if our NEW room would be available(we have to switched room), no answer.I have to go down and deal with the issue. The room was OK but the carpet was almost worn out...not clean.
The only reason why I came back to this hotel is the beautiful setting at the back...at least, one night stay is worthwhile.
