Great Location. Close to the airport, mall of Asia and the Hotel sits right along the Manila Bay. Table area of the casino was temporarily closed for repairs. Great location right on the Manila Bay. Pool area is beautiful and a great place to hang out. There is even a dinner and cultural show outside during the evening. The rooms are nice and the beds are amazing. The staff is always polite and helpful. This hotel has something for everyone to enjoy.

Swimming pool and the hall rooms look like old style, and some personnal thing on the bathroom. We liked the Hotel its really nice and clean, good atmosphere and have a great time to stay there. nice swimming pool and nice spa. we anly stay for three days but I think it was really great.. the place was so close to mall of Asia and they have a vry nice and safety place , security is very fantastik, you should never be worried about if your inside the hotel area. the service was good and all the staff was rwally nice to talk to and they are very kind. I can really recommend this hotel. and the view was really nice and fantastik too. nice and clean area, location and room, and you will be satisfied with this hotel as far as i know. thanks for the staff.. see you again...

POOL AND LANDSCAPE AREA WOMNDERFUL. FOOD OK. MOST STAF ARE GOOD BUT SOME ALSO JUST PLAIN NOSY. I PERSONALLY ALSO LIVE IN THE PHILIPPINES, BESIDES THE U.S.A.. very expensive for internet usage I stayed with my daughter here and we found it wonderfully luxurious compared to other places we stayed, with everything you would expect of a 5 star hotel. We loved the spa, sauna and steam room and thought the bar with the jazz singers was underutilised and a good way to idle away some time with an evening drink. The expense of all extras was huge so when we splashed out on the buffet it was really disappointing to find our meal was only luke warm at best. The dessert was amazing though. There was also a feeling of being in a luxury compound as the hotel was not within walking distance to anything of interest and the security was so tight.
Travel tip : organise transport by taxi not through the hotel which is very expensive

Nice! Very luxurious accommodations. I liked the service we received from all of the staff. The buffet was excellent. Food was pricey considering the local competition for the same quality of food and service. You can get the same outside for half the price or less if you care to look for it. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our stay at Sofitel. This was my first experience staying with them and I'm glad it was nice because other family members met us there as well. This seems like a place where there are a lot of weddings because we saw at least three wedding parties while we were there. The place is immaculate and the staff was very helpful. We took the tour to Corregidor Island. The ferry was walking distance from the hotel. We also spent time at the Mall of Asia which was just a couple of blocks away. This place is in a prime location right on the bay, close to a lot of attractions and also to the airport. We would stay there again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take a trip to Taal Volcano. Be sure to buy some buko pie on your way home at one of the local bakeries in Tagaytay.

Spectacular hotel with brilliant service and a stunning view over Manila Bay and the pool area Really hard to fault anything. I guess, pushing to find something, the check-in and check-out desk were overworked due to numbers but this did not detract from a fabulous stay. Also internet is expensive and really should be offered free in upper class hotels. This is an excellent hotel. Our room was superb with a spectacular view over Manila Bay and the swimming pool area. Whenever we got to the hotel I felt that we had entered an oasis protected from the intensity that is Manila. Meals were relatively expensive but always beautifully presented and of high quality. This is a true 5 star hotel, as good as any I have stayed in the world, far better that the Dusit in Makati or the Diamond in Ermita and with a reasonable price from Agoda I will certainly repeat.
Nightlife Tip : Cowboy Grill at Ermita is a fantastic place for great music and reasonably priced drinks

Excellent amenities and the rooms were very clean, classy, and comfortable. Rooms were a bit pricey.
Location a bit far from all the Manila 'hotspots' especially at peak traffic periods.
Restaurant a bit pricey Definitely 4 stars or above rating due to excellent facilities, atmosphere, and service. Only real complaint would be the checkout process which took longer than could have been. Given the amount of customers there should be more staff available at the reception desk.
Hotel Feature Tip : Room service was very good-easily charged everything to the room and paid at the end. However, keep tabs on costs because it could easily add up. If on a budget, maybe better option to dine out of the hotel to nearby restaurants.

Excellent hotel, nearest one to SM-MOA. Nice view and breathtaking sunset of Manila Bay. Costly breakfast P1,250 per person. The hotel was clean and well maintained, the swimming pool was very lovely though we were not able to swim due to hectic schedule at the convention, staff were warm and helpful.
We will come back again with our family.
Travel tip : Standard hotel charge for a ride going SM-MOA is P240, try to get a taxi, which costs only P80 or less.

I loved the design of the hotel, the pool area, the room with the balcony. You can see one of the best sunsets in Manila from there, and they have a beautiful setup where you can actually "lounge" on white leather cushions on the lawn by the bay...very sexy and chic!
Everyone who works there is very friendly, and courteous...
The food, and especially the buffet dinner was memorable and wonderful, but very expensive by Manila standards...about US$50 per person, I think. The food other than the buffet was a concoction of euro-american-island that was good but not very local nor impressive...
There are many other eateries nearby that offer authentic and more reasonable eateries. We really loved our stay in Sofitel Manila..we loved it so much we extended our stay twice....
It really is like a paradise in Manila...if you have time after your stay/meeting in Makati, you should go there.

Great pool and spa, safe and very clean and tidy. If staying here visit the "Legend Chinese" only around the corner. The food is not cheap, but by hotel standards its pretty good. Hotel taxi's are expensive take a chance on the local guys around 60% cheaper After 3 weeks in the phils we finished with a week in Manila at the Sofitel. After finding a very cheap rate on agonda I was very surprised to find that the room was actually like the one in the photos. Overall the hotel is great they really look after you and nothing is a problem. Take the time to remove yourself from the normal western holiday and get into the phils culture, they are great people. Book a room including breakfast and have a great time.

Great room with view of manila bay.
Bed linens are awesome, really had good nights sleep very comforatable.
Close to MOA (Mall of asia) Sofitel was the best 5 star hotel we have ever stayed in manila.

Hotel taxi to MOA costs 240 pesos (around £3.50)
not bad but if you get a taxi from MOA to come back to sofitel only costs 55 pesos or under £1 only if you get the taxi from the taxi stand and you are willing to que for a long time.
You have to be careful though as some drivers tend to charge 3 to 4 times as much so always ask them to flag down their meters. If the driver asks for 200 huggle down to 140 or 150 pesos its good enough if you dont want to wait in line.
MOA is just 10 minutes away.
International airport is around 20-25 minutes away from this hotel but if you are travelling back to your country on a monday I suggest you plan your journey way earlier than usual as the traffic is very bad specially during rush hours.
Overall, this hotel is FANTASTIC!!! A+++++
Shopping Tip : Hypermarket in the MOA (mall of asia) is a good place to buy essential groceries you need during your stay as they are reasonably priced.
If you want cheap rate for taxi from MOA back to sofitel get your cab fromt he taxi stand, its a long wait but for 55 pesos I think its worth it.
If you are in a hurry or no patience to wait in the que there are drivers who will offer to take you back to the hotel but will charge 3-4 times as much try to huggle if they say 200 or 250 huggle down to 140 to 150 its good enough.
But always try to ask for the drivers to flag their meters down. MOA is only 10 minutes away.
Internationla airport around 20-25 minutes away from this hotel.
Try to wine and dine by the pool at night it's so romantic but of course expect a very nice bill at the end as well ;-)

Cons -a bit OVERPRICED for not so great facilities - no WIFI on room, gym rather small, Shuttle Service to Mall of Asia could extend time of pickup from Mall to Hotel (last pickup 5pm - while mall closes at 10pm)
Good old Philippine Plaza hotel renamed to Sofitel, grand Spiral restaurant - hotel's most impressive feature. Breakfast selection out of this world (I was told champagne breakfasts great - will try next time)- pampered by Concierge services, look for Paul, he is your man Friday everyday -one of Hotel's assets - booked/rebooked tickets almost same day!
Hotel Feature Tip : Mall of Asia, HUGE mall excellent shopping/use free shuttle service to and from (or if u use taxi keep loose change taxi drivers will claim they dont have change) Use hotel service to airport, be specific-->choose the Dept of Tourism registered white car ($10) - cheaper than other car services offered, also very safe
