Excellent customer service from staff, friendly and helpful

Poor breakfurst, fruit looked always old & limited variety. Only 1 computer for guest usage , charges for internet service.

The hotel staff provide excellent customer service and always greeting me when I left and returned. The room was clean & bed comfortable. There was only a bathtub ,not a shower in my room. I was asked for a deposit when I checked in and was not aware of that requirement from hotel website, but the reservation clerk didnt pressure me to do it and I appreciated that. Improving the breakfurst is a must for this hotel and adding more computers for guest and free internet in common areas and rooms.

Shopping Tip : Green belt Mall within walking distance of hotel

-centraly located -free newspaper in the morning

-no complimentary items -no hair dryer -no free internet

Somerset is a good hotel located in the center of Makati. The service is profesional and the room clean. However, there are no complimentary products in the room like soap, comb, cotton buds, no hair dryer as well. For such a price, it is quite a deception not to provide such small items for free. You can buy them in a convenient store in front of the hotel.

Restaurant Tip : Don't eat at the hotel, Greenbelt is at the corner.

Location, within striking distance of Makati CBD, Greenbelt, quiet area

Price, room finishing and quality of amenities are lower compared to similar apartments.

I had not been in Manila for 4 years and chose Somerset Millenium based on reputation and past stays I had in their establishments in Bangkok and Jakarta. To my surprise, however, I would rate their room qualities and facilities as merely a 2/3 star hotel. Facilities such as the gym is an after thought. It took me 15 minutes just to be served by the receptionist, as they were busy entertaining walk-in people who did not even have bookings. The receptionists have this aloof attitudes and that wouldn't have happened in Thailand or Indonesia. Room conditions one class below other places. All in all, it was just the location. The best service came from the security people. Somerset should spend more time reviewing their establishments than providing glossy brochures in the room.

Great location, the staff were always pleasant and friendly, and security was high with a big guard dog to sniff all check-in luggage and bag checks for everyone walking into the building

Requested for non-smoking floor, but not available. Also the breakfast is pretty limited, but the food isn't too bad. No free wifi in room.

Overall, I was very pleased with this hotel. There were some minor issues about the smell of cigarette smoke hanging in the air, but it's a common problem in a non-smokefree hotel. The rooms were great, and exceeded my expectations, especially for the price I paid. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Just a very cosy yet convenient place to stay in the middle of the hustle and bustle of manila. Food can be found at Greenbelt even in the wee hours of the morning. I'd definitely choose to stay here again.

Restaurant Tip : Lots of eateries open into the wee hours of the morning. We wandered into Masas, a glammed up Filipino eatery on a ritzy tourist strip, nestled amidst places offering Italian and Greek food. They didn't blink at my sleeping clothes or slippers, which were rather out of place amidst the other patrons who were mostly dressed for a night out on the town.

VFM (Value For Money)- lowest category comes with a small kitchenette, bathroom, big bedroom with king-sized bed overlooking the city - nice view. Good (but not excellent) security - card system

The security system in the lifts need improvement. When I put my card and select the floor, another person can just press any floor - and hence, it may be dangerous. Unless the doormen/concierge/bell hop screen visitors to the hotel.

I would recommend Sporean businessmen to stay at this hotel - as the location is excellent. Their breakfast area is very well run - systems in place to make dining there a very enjoyable experience. They even hv a Expresso coffee machine - for nice hot coffee.

Shopping Tip : To go to the Greenbelt 1 (which links to other Greenbelt #s), just walk out of main door, turn left and straight to junction. Turn right, cross the road and U're arrived at their biggest shopping mall.

Great location and value. Would definitely stay there again.

Room was smaller than expected.

Great location and value. Would definitely stay there again. The staff was helpful, but not very knowledgeable about the local area. The breakfast buffet was very good especially since it was included in the price of the stay. The room was smaller than expected, but always clean. There was no view from the window except the wall from the next building. That was the most disappointing part of my stay at the hotel.

Makati location; 1 bedroom suite was roomy and the kitchen was of good size and well equipped

Less than welcoming front desk staff

My partner and I arrived rather worn out around 9 pm after a 12 hour drive from Sorsogon. The fellow at the Front Desk was not at all friendly or welcoming, merely businesslike (the first time I've experienced this in the Philippines over my 5 visits). When we went up to our room we found that instead of the master suite we had pre-arranged we were put in a suite with the adjoining "kids" room with twin beds. We were too tired to deal with it at that point. The next morning we needed an iron and ironing board and couldn't find them in the closet where they were supposed to be. A call to housekeeping finally determined that they were "next door" in the adjoining master bedroom of the suite, they were retrieved and given to us. Next we needed internet, found the cable in the bedroom, but even after signing for the service found no live connection. Another call to housekeeping connected us with tech support who made a visit and finally determined the main connection was in the master suite (like the iron), and after another few minutes they managed to turn that on as well. After these frustrations I wondered why we couldn't simply shift to the adjoing master bedroom and avoid any furthter hassles (since this is what I had ordered via my Agoda reservation). A third call to housekeeping resulted in us being told that it would take too much to ready that room and that they could more easily convert our twin bed room into something more accommodating for a couple (which they did during a scheduled housekeeping visit and while we were out shopping in the Greenbelt). When we returned, all was made right and we enjoyed the rest of our stay without incident or complaint. But for such a nice place in clearly the upscale section of Manila, I had expected superlative service. The housekeeping staff tried their best and were pleasant at all contacts, but the all three issues could have been avoided if the desk clerk had simply given us the type of room that we had requested in

Restaurant Tip : for a later evening quick bite, there is a nice coffee-house/restaurant right across the street (so you don't need to wander over to the expansive Greenbelt mall)

Very good location, close to airport, walking distant to shopping area, very clean.

NIL

The room was excellent clean and big. It has an LCD TV, Hi-Fi with dvd player, complete with a microwave and eating utensils. There were hair dryer, iron board and iron provided as well. The staff were friendly and helpful. One of the best thing I like about the hotel : it is very close to Greenbelt Shopping Mall. I will definitely come back again to the same hotel :)

Good Location, if a little hard to find. Shopping & Restaurants walking Distance!

Hard to find, Internet Access expensive!

This is a good alternative to the higher priced & older Hotels in Makati. Service was good & the Room very nice. Location is good within walking distance access to the GreenBelt Shopping Centres & Restaurants. Is a little hard to find for the Airport Taxi's but the local ones seemed to find it fine.

Very service minded and helpful staff. The studio i stayed in was clean and big with a wonderful view of the skyscrapers of Manila. Breakfast was good.

Bad airport service that also was expensive. No one to pick you up. 5 times the price instead of getting a taxi yourself.

Very service minded and helpful staff.Security is high and the neighborhood is safe. Big studious with everything you need.Lots of warm water.Small pool. But very close to some good shopping areas. Beautiful view. Friendly atmoshpere and quiet. The hotel helps you arrange things you need. A good place if you are staying longer and can afford it. 24 hour shop 5 meters from the hotel, kinda like 7 eleven.

very good Location - 5 mins walk to Greenbelt - very nice Rooms - Flat TV - Kitchen - big Bath

The checkin took too long - we needed to wait 15 min after checkin before our room was ready.

The Hotel is in a very good Location, its just a 5 mins walk to Greenbelt 5 were you can find a lot of Bars, Restaurants and shops. The rooms are very nice and big. The style is very modern, with a big bed, big flat TV and a big bath. No extra shower just a bath tube. Our room had a extra kitchen with a big fridge..very nice.

Nightlife Tip : Havanna Bar at Greenbelt

Clean. Close to Green Belt up-market shopping and restaurants.

Small uninspiring room for the price

Clean bedding and new furniture - yes, a modern but very unsexy ambience in a narrow blandly decorated bedroom. Would suit a businessman who appreciates a sterile rather than sensual ambience. No cockroaches to send your girlfriend screaming but not a place for a seductive turn on either. Ok if you just want a convenient base to visit the local Green Belt shopping etc. The hotel itself doesn't deserve to be 'slagged off'. It's clean and presentable - ok for an overnight stay.
