Remote - ideal for solitudal escape

Only stayed for two nights, enjoyed our stay in very quite and pleasing surroundings. Remote from Puerto Princesa which may be a con for some no nightlife as such.
Travel tip:
Resort offered transportation from Puerto Princesa PHP 4800 (return) this is a disproportionate charge, instead recommend using air-con mini bus (van) service to Narra (PHP 250) then tricycle (PHP 50) to resort.

delisious philipino food in the restaurant, wonderful trip to small island. everything great, especially snorkel tour! they prepare a perfect lunch with lovely tableware not like a plastic or paper. try it!

Stayed in a standard room, as a treat after backpacking down from El Nido. As seasoned travellers, we're happy to stay in cheap rooms when backpacking but also are familiar with luxury hotels.
Crystal Paradise was a serious disappointment -very glad we only went for a standard room. Expect nothing more than 2* service and facilities.
Its only saving grace is the hotel's beautiful grounds with numerous palm trees and tropical flowers, and hammocks strung between them - all with a view of the ocean. The beach is non-existent - a narrow strip of brown sand.
The reception and dining area is open air, in serious need of renovation. Breathtaking for all the wrong reasons. The restaurant's centrepiece fishtank was filthy, with flies interrupting our breakfast in the mornings. We avoided the restaurant for lunch/dinner.
The level of english amongst most staff was poor. The spa was unable to offer some of its treatments, despite spa staff admitting they'd run out of supplies a while ago- they simply hadn't bothered to restock.
What was most galling was the feeling that we were being ripped off at every turn, just because we were tourists. A boat trip out to the Turtle Sanctuary on Isla Arena . We did the same trip ourselves (on a better boat than our fellow hotel guests) . Tricyles to town , we did one way trips ourselves .
We understand that luxury hotels charge large amounts for services they provide, it is to be expected. But at a resort where no added value is to be had at all, we found this unacceptable.
If you stay here, know that it is a rundown resort, and pay accordingly. We would not recommend this place.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
There is very little do do in Narra, aside from the Turtle Sanctuary on Isla Arena day trip. The town itself is tiny, just one street, and English is not commonly spoken. It is difficult to get around with little infrastructure, and it is not geared to tourists or travellers. Stay max 2 nights.
