it was a bit too cool to use the pool. our room was spacious and comfortable. not on a high traffic road, but only a few minutes to several restaurants (there is one in the hotel as well). there is free wireless, but it did not seem to work inside the rooms. you need to be in the patio area to use it. i think that could easily be resolved by moving the wireless router to another area so the antenna is not against a concrete wall, or by using a different router with a better range (yeah, i'm a techie).

Superb!
Super quiet area with new facilities and excellent staff.

I could not recommend a better experience. This two year old hotel is just a short tricycle ride from the main rode where you can visit many restaurants overlooking Taal Volcano. It is super quiet here with the most professional staff I have ever experienced in the Philippines. They are on top of things. We got free breakfast and a free daily massage by booking through Agoda. The staff actually are happy to be there and do not greet you with a fake smile like most places. They even knew my name when I approached the front desk to register. They have you fill out a breakfast card in the evening and the next day you tell the restaurant staff your room number and they fix your meal. I also enjoyed the swimming pool. They have a gazebo as well. If we needed to head to the main road, the staff would just radio for a tricycle to come and pick us up. My wife and I had our honeymoon here and we would come back again. They treat you like royalty at Tagaytay Wingate Manor.

Nice rooms and excellent customer service
The rooms are very clean and cozy. They have very accommodating staff. I love the food they served.
7.3
They offer pool but its not heated. We know Tagaytay is a cold place so they may want to have the pool heated else no one will use it. The WIFI signal is strong but poor cable reception. We had massage but its so-so. Nothing else that you can do in the hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Bring your own car as the hotel is far from the places to visit and the main highway.

Just right for a rest
Away from the hectic business of the surrounding "tourist" atmosphere

The four massages that we had (my daughter and I) were just what we needed. The breakfasts hit the spot. The dinner menu was also good, but we were there mainly to rest and visit with friends and relatives who live in the Cavite/Manila area. Not many drawbacks. The staff was very resonsive to our needs. The rooms themselves were small and cozy. We found the Wingate Manor online from Marinduque and we were glad we did.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Go to the volanco on a weekday if possible. Don't ride the horses as you will miss out on getting your heart rate up as you walk to the rim of the 1911 volanco.

it was a short but wonderful stay at the manor, we were greeted by the concierge with a charming smile. i really loved how they kept it peaceful and quiet, maybe because it was not a busy month. it gave the place a solemn atmosphere to help those who visited to escape the noise of the city coupled with a relaxing massage to relieve the stress from sore muscles. the room was smaller than what i expected it to be but still enough room to move around, you would not feel suffocated. the sheets and pillows were soft and feel new, and the bed was really comfortable and clean. even the toilet was clean and with enough space to bathe without feeling cramped up. the manor also had a pool, though given tagaytay's cold climate, it would have benefited the guest more if it were a heated. the overall the stay was sweet and pleasant, more than what i expected it to be.

Good private hotel in Tagaytay!
secluded, quiet, comfy rooms, ok bathroom, nice free massage
7.7
This is a nice hotel, though a little farther away from the city proper and the attractions of Tagaytay. It is advised to have your own car, else you'll need to pay a minimum of P30 for each trike ride to the main highway from the hotel and a whopping P80 from the rotunda to the hotel.
Our room was upgraded from the Honeymoon Room to the Deluxe Room due to room unavailability, so that was nice. The massages were also ok, though don't expect the best massage of your life from a free massage. The amenities were basic, there was a pool and a massage area, nothing too fancy. Still, the stay was made enjoyable by the very accommodating staff and the comfortable bed and room. Despite the fact that the hotel was a little far from all the attractions, we didn't have too hard a time going around the city. If you want to visit all the attractions though, make sure you allot more than one day.
The breakfast was simple, nothing too fancy. It was a set breakfast, but they gave us the option to switch the bread to garlic rice and there was free fruit included as a dessert (just watermelon though).
Travel tip:
The TV has a USB slot, but it doesn't play videos.
