I spent 3 days 2 nights at the Bayview Hotel and I would recommend it to any solo or couple travellers, who like being centrally located in Singapore.
The hotel was very clean and the buffet very good.
Very friendly and attentive staff as well.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
You are a few steps away from the Raffles Hotel and Marina Bay. A nice walk from the hotel to every major districts in SG.

i was not comfortable with the area that the hotel was located and especially when the massive construction has taken place with the many scaffoldings blocking the entrance of the hotel and being isolated from the main road. we had a difficult time directing the local taxi driver how to get there. upon arrival, i was taken aback by the simplicity of the reception desk and the purity of the receptionists to welcome us although i was a little annoyed that my husband and i was given a twin beds despite our phone call prior in the day to informed them that we will check in late due to flight arrivals. however, all was forgiven, when i realised that the beds and the pillows were so comfortable and had a really good rest! plus free internet and breakfast! that is a thumbs up!!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
This simple practical hotel is located next to a & Eleven store that is 24 hours and 10 steps to the local Kopitiam that is 24 hours serving all kinds of local foods. If you are not too adventurers, just walk around the corner and Wendy's is there. For some of you who are Coffee Bean & Tea Leaves supporters, it is just next to Wendy's. Try the Molly Pub! The Bras Basah MRT is just 3 mins walk from the hotel and you can travel to any part of Singapore. SMU (University) is also 5 mins walk via the underground pass. The National library is 10 mins walk and the museum is a stone throw away.. The Istana to the right and starts the beginning of Orchard Road you dont want to miss!!

the safe box stopped working in 2 days after use.when we check in toilet was dirty with a smell of urine, next day i asked house keeper to clean it i also gave 2 $ but it didn't work instead it is their ordinary job. i was really upset with this situation

Only stayed one night before a cruise. Location very good, close to Raffles Hotel and shopping mall with train station nearby. Room good and a nice pool area.

Got Free Upgrade to Suite ... Yay !!

This is our second stay @ Bayview hotel. Last time was a year ago during Chinese New Year. This year me and couple of friends was spending end of oct weekend shopping and eating :-). As always, Bayview location which is very close to Bras Basah MRT station, Bus stop is a plus. Although this year we were quite surprise that the road (Bencoolen St.) was totally blocked due to construction work. (we had no prior notice about this before our arrival date)
But the reception gave us a very nice surprise, that our Deluxe room booking was upgraded for free to suite. That was very nice of them. !!
So despite the taxi took us to the other end of Bencoolen Street so we had to walk for 10 minutes around the construction site without any clear direction (maybe because it was 23.00 pm,so we didnt see the signs), ...we had a great stay (again).
Restaurant Tip:
Kopi Tiam around the corner is very very useful for meeting point and late dinner.
The 7 11 just a few step from the Hotel door is also very handy in case we need unpacked things.

Value for money, the Bayview is probably the best in Singapore. It has everythind we needed and close to restaurants and shops. Very convenient.
Travel tip:

checking in was easy and fast, staff was friendly, near to food court. the downside would be the heavy renovation works going outside the hotel.
