high expectation but sadly Capella did not deliver

We stayed over the weekend for our birthday celebration. I have lots to comment but first let me begin with a good note. I really appreciate the thoughtful gesture of a service staff at the reception. She kindly sent a cheese platter and wine to our room after hearing our horrifying experience at the cliff restaurant. I am sorry that we did not get your name. Hope you see this message, thank you once again. Now about the hotel itself. The architecture is no doubt a beautiful piece of art, marrying old and new perfectly. We stayed in a sea view room and the view is simply stunning. However the room is already showing signs of fatigue. Surprising considering this is a luxury 5 stars hotel and only 4 years old? The hotel is a lot more crowded than I expected as well. There were a few big groups and families, making the pools, Knolls and Library rather rowdy at times. At breakfast, we, and quite a number of hotel guests, had to wait quite awhile for a table. I understand the hotel is fully booked and this is not uncommon for other hotels but again I expect more from Capella considering their claim to be "One of the best Singapore hotel experiences". Service was pleasant but did not hit the right spot. We were warmly welcomed at the lobby and was very excited when we knew we have a personal assistant attending to our needs during our stay. But sadly, besides explaining the facilities and showing us to our room, we did not see much of her later. I had high expectation after hearing so many good reviews. I really wanted to love the experience and thought I would for, among the many luxury hotels in Singapore, I have chosen Capella to celebrate our birthdays. However, though not unpleasant, I did not walk away thinking that we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would return again. It was alright but one would think Capella is more than just "alright", isn't it?

This is my second time staying at Capella. The first time was when I proposed to my fiancee at the villa. The staff were so attentive that we fulfilled every single request i instructed and made it a very enjoyable stay for us.

For the price paid, its considered value for money except that in my opinion, there is nothing really out of the extraordinary or bad about this Hotel hence i really find it average. Will not consider to stay here again due to the far fetch location from RWS and the main beach areas.

Wonderful !! Will be my first choice for my next holiday stay. Friendly and attentive staff is one of the most important thing to me, in all areas including check in, restaurant, bar as well as pool areas. One thing can be improve is the buffet breakfast choice.

Lovely at Capella

My wife and I spent one night at Capella to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. The service teams at the spa and the hotel were meticulous in providing the extra little special touches to enhance our experience.
The Auriga spa is one of the best spas I have been to. Their attention to details added a lot of value to the experience. Just a casual conversation that I enjoy strong massages delivered a very satisfactory spa experience. The relaxation pool, the herbal steam bath and the cool mist shower are excellent at complimenting and delivering the full suite of spa experience.
Perhaps it was a weekend, I can sense the hotel was almost at full capacity. The reception counter was just a little slow in handling check-ins and check-outs. But it is all right.
I want to return to Capella regularly. That's how much I love it!
