Singapore is an expensive place. Drinks at the bar were higher then we usually expect. Music and setting were nice.
Shopping Tip : Near shopping mart and underground metro system station

A hotel worth staying
Shopping Tip : Bugis junction`s close by!! and a nice place to hang out in the afternoon. shopping is good. as products are reasonably priced unlike Orchard street which is hyped.

Staff was very friendly (as everyone in S'pore).
Travel tip : The taxi from the airport to the hotel is around 15-18 Singapore Dollars.
Do try the bars/restaurants in Chijmes.
Go to Clarke Quay also for dinning and some nightlife.
The DHL Ballon in Buguis is worth trying to get a fantastic view of the city.

It was a great place to explore the old part of Singapore. We walked all places but if needed the bus stops are around the corner from the hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : You can get the bus to Changi Museum from outside the restaurant downstairs but it is along and slow journey. Watch out for the air conditioned bus!

Hotel was a bit overpriced for what we got.
Shopping Tip : Chijmes is a congregation of bars and shops nearby; however, we did not find it a very happening place.

The couple of room service meals I ordered were satisfactory -- except for the last one: wilted, blackened lettuce, and pasta stuck together. No salad dressing, no knife. I called the duty manager and service manager to take a look at the mess and requested that the cost be removed from my bill. It was.
All these things add up to a hotel staff who are well-intentioned, but lacking tip-top management. I'm sad to report that I'll not be staying here again.
Restaurant Tip : The marvellous Dome Cafe in the atrium of the Singapore Art Museum. High quality breakfast, lunch, dinners at totally reasonable prices. A two minute walk from the hotel. I love this place!

Carlton Hotel advertise superb city views which no longer exist on one side of the hotel from most floors due to an office block opposite even numbered rooms. These rooms also suffer from constant traffic noise especially from buses which stop right outside. Odd numbered rooms do have a view but the hotel is building a new premium wing which will also prevent any view in the near future. Construction noise of the new wing is prevalent all day with jackhammers and heavy plant operating most of the time. Forget sleeping in after a night on the town. Air conditioning is effective but also noisy. Reception staff were efficient during check-in but unwelcoming bordering on being surly. Porters were unhelpful with unloading suitcases from the taxi (too much effort I guess), did not describe the use of the available room facilities (the television needs an orientation course in itself) or lift the luggage onto the room suitcase stand yet hovered with the expectation of a tip for their poor service for just taking luggage in the lift to the room. Hallway carpets are stained and in need of maintenance. Rooms are of generous size, clean and beds are comfortable. Internet is available from the room for those with their own computer. The bathroom had a great shower but difficult to use push/pull/twist temperature adjustment and grouting was stained around the bath tiles. Check-out was speedy and the hotel offer an express check out service for those who do not wish to wait in the queue. Overall the Carlton Hotel was a disappointment.

Near the conference venue (Suntec city).
During the trip. Hotel construction is building a new car to take Airport Bus to send the hotel. Can not access the front of the hotel must be.The back, which is not easy. Step 8 rooms, which are enough elevators opened. Is very strong cigarette smell old carpets and lobby area are not provided as of.
Shopping Tip : Singapore should not buy anything. Goods more expensive home, we almost everything. Shopping home our best. Thailand helps Thai help.

Hotel Facilities brightness Location
The use of the pool, and the construction of a building next to a big risk
Very good location. It is a safe place, a very beautiful place. SHITIHORU station, BUGISU station, close to both, it was convenient. Walk a bit, the Arab street, it was easy going in various areas such as marinas. Needs or were close to Victoria Ho, unfortunately little shop that was open from breakfast time.

RAFFURUZUSHITI and next to the Raffles Hotel. And MRT is the best location. You arrive in tour buses and shuttle buses, but regret that touch down in the back of the hotel.
