Comfortable and relax
Location is good, where shopping, dinning, and attractions are just nearby, e.g. Gardens by the Bay. It feels like gooing home after a long day out.

For me, my hotel is the place I go to to sleep. I get up in the morning, jog, walk across the street for breakfast, take public transport to wherever I need to go, come back to eat near my hotel and then maybe watch a movie before sleeping, or visit a bar that shouldn't be too far away. At the Carlton there is a great gym, a dozen breakfast places across the street, all kinds of public transport next to the breakfast places,literally hundreds of restaurants of all denominations within half a mile, too wide a choice of bars for my needs, a large TV and a large bed. It's all I want.

It was a pleasant stay. Central for shopping and train station.
