Carlton is quite old hotel. Though after renovation the exterior will look modern but in-room facility still old like before the renovation.

Poor Service and Facilities for a 5 star rating

rooms are big but...take note all toilets doesn't have washers which is basic essential, rooms are a bit old and very old facilities....
people are unfriendly.. lack customer service specialy that one from counter, they dont smile for asian customers only for foreign nationals wchich is very racist.. only few of them are ok... if I were to rate this hotel. out of 10 maybe 4...
Im not satisfied with our stay specially we wanted to celebrate valentines day there

great location just Cross the road to Chimes, MRT station and Raffles City. Good services staff when i need a higher floor, she changed my room to new wings and higher floor with no extra charges. it value for money as i am holding the promotion price. and the buffet breakfast is good and delicious.

booked for a twin room but when we got there there wasn't any king size bed anymore.
wanted to spend valentines day yet we had to be given two separate beds in order to check in at the rate we paid for - the rest were all smoking rooms which was unbearable for two non smokers like us. the recep gave us an option to upgrade but we had to top up another sgd. didnt want to so in the end we got the room that is non smoking but with separate beds.
location and service level is a definite plus and good. room was cozy lit but they were of average standard. disappointed after all as we indicated in our booking what kind of rooms we wanted. but there was still a small pool for us to relax a little.

My family enjoyed the stay at the Carlton Hotel. The breakfast is good on par with many 4-5 stars hotel. The reception was good, we checked in early and checked out late without any additional payments. But the rooms we had are a bit old, the carpets are a bit soiled and i could smell cigarettes smokes in the room.

The hotel is strategically located opposite Raffles City Shopping Center. Everything is good. Worth the money spent.
Restaurant Tip:
Can try the Brotzeit German Bar just opposite the hotel. Good food especially the fried knuckles.

the services quite perfect except too extreme sometime where the housekeeping kept reminding us that she wants to help us clean up the room
Shopping Tip:
orchard road, bugis junction is 5 minits away, walking distance
and even took taxi also $5++ only!
