Bathroom could need an update.

A good hotel in the center of the city. Very good location. Close to MRT, shoping senters, resaurants, clubs and bars. Good room with internet and safety box in room. Very nice pool area with open pool bar in the afternoon. Friendly and helpful staff. Renovations going on but minimum noice.

Carlton is one of the best hotel in Singapore, in terms of price, facilities, room and locations. It is very close to the shopping complex and also the MRT station.

TV programs quite limited... :)

I am thinking to stay in this hotel someday if I come back to Singapore for holiday... With the reasonable price, I have an essiest way to go everywhere in Singapore from there. It is close to all areas such as Bugis Junction, Marina Square, Esplanade, and soon. Thank you to Agoda for all the execellent arrangement...Bravo..!!!

Shopping Tip : By entering Raffles City, now you can go to Marina Square, Suntec City, Esplanade Mal by foot..

Located in the city centre and closed to the mall, sound convenient

noisy as they are renovating lobby and constructing the new wings the room is old and should be renovated too

It is still my preferable hotel when I go to SG.

Executive club on the top floor. This is a great place to do business and enjoy some great facilities. The hotel ios also in a good, central location.

The gym is very small

As a business traveller I always look for hotels that offer convenience, good standards, and value for money. The executive club rooms offer exactly this. With internet, breakfast, evening drinks and dinner included it's great value for money.

As they say on their web site the Carlton is minutes from everywhere. Walking distance to Raffles City and City Mall MRT. It is also a leasurely walk to Bugis Street and Sim Lim Square so you can buy from the high end of town to the markets and Sim Lim for your electronics. The staff are very friendly and are allways willing to help.

We stayed on the 9th floor overlooking Victoria Street. When we stayed there in August we were on the 14 floor and overlooking Raffles City and Chimes. The room there was much nicer. The room was dated as far as the paint and floor coverings are concerned however they are in the process of renovating. We came down to breakfast at 9.45 and the selection was not so good and some of the hot food was cold but still sufficient.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Carlton in the last 6 months. Although the room on the 9th floor was not as good as the last one we had in the 14th floor it still met our needs. We had friends with us and they provided us with adjoining rooms which was great. There are additions and renovations going on at the moment (although noise was kept to a minimum) and this has seen the breakfast area cut dowm and the reception moved to the 6th floor but the staff are very friendly and helpful so there was no problem with that. If you come down to breakfast after 9.45 the buffet selection is not as good and some of the food was cold. However there was still plenty to meet our needs. All in all it was again a pleasant experience and the location cannot be beaten (particularly if you love shopping)

Hotel Feature Tip : Ask for a room facing Bras Basah road. Great views.

Excellent location, good and clean with solid service

Bathrooms need updating

Overall impression was good, with location being the most impressive feature. The room was of a good, although not too generous size and main features (internet, universal power points, cabinets, etc.) all available. Service was prompt and curteous, with solid standard of spoken English language. Bathrrom is in a need of an update, but general cleanliness was satisfactory.

Travel tip : Proximity to Suntec Exibition Centre

Reasonably quiet room (13th floor), comfortable, well-serviced daily. Nice swimming-pool - open air terrace on the 6th floor.

I was taken aback to have another new guest letting himself into my room 2 hours after arrival (the reception staff had issued my room to him as well as to me). Profuse apologies but an obvious security risk if I hadn't been in the room. How could this happen? One would have thought that the room allocation software would have provided a warning. Room access cards failed 3 times. On one occasion I was issued with 2 cards, 'just in case', and neither worked. Vastly overpriced daily fee for internet access (27 Singapore dollars). Building work was going on (no warning when I booked) - so no lounge facilities and very noisy in the downstairs lobby during working hours. Nowhere else suggested as somewhere to work quietly while waiting for flight. Required relocation of Reception from ground floor to 6th floor. Rather too many sycophantic smiley people in the lobby greeting guests - and not enough people behind the scenes making the hotel function smoothly. No one in the business centre in the middle of the morning, just a notice saying go to 'Reception' for help (normally 1 floor down, but 5 floors up when Reception relocated). I just gave up and went outside the hotel for my needs.

I booked over the internet and checked in with a 'voucher'. This was all painless but see 'cons' above re. letting my room twice. My stay (5 nights) was, overall, pretty hassle free but I was annoyed by the glitches.

Shopping Tip : Carrefour in shopping 'mall', turn right out of hotel and walk for 10 mins straight up Bras Basah Rd.

Good location. Clean rooms. Friendly staff.

NO daily news papers. No free internet ( whilst there are many Hot spots outside the hotel ). Internet connection is expensive. No complimentary drinking water. On Booking guest not informed that there were renovations going on!! It was noisy and dusty in the lobby!!

Pity about my timing and the renovations. An additional discount for the inconvenience would have been a nice way to keep guests happy and with free internet and a news paper or some magazines in the rooms to read. But the location made it up!!

Hotel Feature Tip : The location is excellent and you need not spend much time in the rooms as there is a lot to see and do just minutes away from the hotel, and lots of good and cheap eateries around the hotel.

Pleasant room, cozy bar and good food.

The bathroom needs better cleaning.

I arrived in Singapore with a great hope to enjoy the Carlton hotel since I had difficulty to "catch" a room there for the last 2 years. In my happy mood, I decided to accept shuttle service from the airport. Its desk there did persuaded me to try it out. Well, the driver dropped me at the back door of the Carlton hotel, a deserted and half dark place. He said, that they are not allowed to drop guests at the front door and he left. With my 30 kg suitcase and 2 heavy bags, I nearly paniced. But there was nobody around so I had to manage to get all my things into the hotel, really a job for me ( for any 60 years old woman already tired due to the fligt)and presented myself to the reception desk. The girl there surprised me by insising that my booking is only for one night and showed no mercy to my arguments. She adviced me to go sleep and arrange extra night with higher price first thing in the morning! I was too tired to argue more and (my mistake!) to find the booking voucher ( Internet copy) to make her to believe me. I presented the voucher the next morning and nobody said nothing as explanation and I stayed another night with no more problem.I did not make a fus about it, I just wanted to have peacefull holiday. Last dissapoitment was that I had no idea that the hotel is under constuction ( noise at the lobby) and that the bar I was hoping so much to enjoy is gone for the moment! If I knew I would chose different hotel. After all, I was comming for couple of peacefull and happy days having spend 30 days of mountain climbing in Tibet.

Location near Suntec convention center. Fast Internet connection

Breakfast average, breakfast always overcrowded, room need renovation, construction side next to hotel

Not much to say about the Carlton. All average and usually I am staying here because it's nearby the convention center at Suntec City. But actually for that money you can easily better hotels in Singapore.

Conveniently located

a bit old

The staff members of Carlton hotel were very helpful and nice; the hotel is just a few steps away from the MRT which is very convenient and easily found; even though the hotel is not stylish and new enough, it is still a good place for tourists as well as the businessmen to stay

Fantastic friendly staff, excellent location and great food if you need to eat at the Hotel.

Rooms are a little tired and in need of a good clean but with the new construction going up next door this is likely to improve soon.

For the price, definitely worth staying here. Nice central location and everywhere is within 20 minutes in Singapore by taxi, which are incredibly cheap. Despite a lot of construction going on next door, the Hotel is still running smoothly and I would recommend a stay. The Hotel food is good but I would recommend getting out into the surrounds for a good meal - steer clear of Newton's Circus which is a tourist trap - Club Street and surrounds have some fantastic international restaurants.

The cleaness of the room, layout of the restaurant and strategic location nearby orchard road

the room is a little bit small

the fantastic stay in singapore with fantastic hotel, nearby orchard road, affordable price, near mini mart and very clean for the room and hotel as whole. The room is a little bit small but very clean, fit with business travellers with 1 or 2 persons stay. the food is fabolous with many kind of choices as well as the breakfast serve exclusively. I will definitely come back to stay there if I visit singapore again for my regular business trip.

In the very city center, walking distance from all the point of interest for business

not very new, a new wing under construction.

I've chosen thi hotel because it's really close to SUntech Center (exibition space) and because it was a bit cheaper than the others (Conrad, SwissHotel..), but in the end the level of the hotel is much lower compared to the competitors in the same area. If you are looking for a good place to stay for your business trip, the Carlton is for you, if you can spend a little bit more, you definelty have to choose Conrad. If the purpose of your trip is leasure, you'd better stay in another area and look for a cute boutique hotel for the same price.

Shopping Tip : Sim Lim is teh place to go if you want to buy super cheap elecronics.

Room was clean Location was convinient

Restroom flush did not work properly

I think Carlton's room was clean and decent. It din't look very new but acceptably new. View was ok...not so beautiful thou. But as long as u're always out..it doesn't really matter. The location was in the city so it was very easy to commute. The service was also good...even thou there was one waiter who wasn't good. There was some problem with the restroom's flush. I had to flus three times to get it back to clean state. It was annoying...but I dint really wanna take the pain to change room. The TV was pretty small...but they did have enough channel to view for 1-2 hours at nite. Overall, I liked it and might go back again.
