Big Widescreen TV, nice bed, secluded surroundings, very nice food via room service It's next to the main road, so it was pretty noisy. The stay was pretty enjoyable.
The hotel itself seems more resort-like and it's pretty secluded. We got bumped to the deluxe room and got to enjoy the perks that come along with it, i.e. widescreen LCD tv.
The room itself was comfortable. The bed was comfy. My only gripe is that the blanket was too thick. Ordered room service and the western food turned out to be good. But for the price they were charging us, it had better be good!
The bathroom, however is a tad small for a 4-star hotel.
Overall, nice place.

food, staff are friendly and helpful and free shuttle bus service at frequent hours. In singapore where land is strigent, yet you can find a hotel room with ample space. No other hotel but copthrone orchid hotel. Come to stay with your family members and the room space is adequate to accommodate.

The hotel is good. Not exactly a 4 star. May be a 2.5-3. The reception staff is really nice and they don't crib about early check-ins and late check-outs. They even provide you a room to freshen up if you have already checked out but need to keep the luggage there for the day. The hotel is NOT located near a train station (MRT) so you are only left with cabs to travel. Also there aren't any options to eat. The concierge staff is pretty rude and unhelpful. The rates for everything are 4star including the internet which is $30/day!!!. The rooms need better TV. I wouldn't stay here again only because I like better connectivity to the city and like the internet to be free or lower cost. Also I prefer more options to eat than just the hotel restaurants. The staff was good and they helped me a lot. Overall I was happy but connectivity is a major downside.

Room smelt, Bar fridge was off , had nothing in it not even water. The location is close to the city and attractions . But lacks in comfort, the room they stuck me in smelt musty , has not been open for some time , The bar fridge was off , dont know if it even worked, there was nothing in it not even water. The remote for the TV did not work. As far as value for money, I dont think there is any value staying here and i would not be staying here again.

Service was good. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. good service and friendly staff. our hair dryer was broken but they replaced a new one straight away after we called the front desk.the hotel is little bit old but rooms are very clean. the location is not in the central and has to take taxi to Orchid Road Shopping Aera.
Shopping Tip : cost about SGD5 to catch a cab to Orchid Road, where you can find excellent shopping malls and lots of local food.

Early check-in was a great help. Free Shuttle to Orchard and Mustafa. Housekeeping staff was very rude, A/c did not work well. Copthorne Orchid is a nice Hotel, just a bit far located. Does not have any connectivity to MRT. Though they have a good Shuttle service to Orchard Road, Mustafa. Front desk staff was very kind to allow early check-in as we were totally jet - lagged..House-keepin lady was very Rude :(

The hotel is not close to anything and has limited shuttle destinations from the hotel.
The rooms were disgustingly dirty, old and and broken. TV needs to be upgraded to the current decade. Walls need to be painted, disgustingly dirty and popcorn ceiling and walls are so outdated. Ceiling boards were broken and scary... Not only were the rooms small, they were smelly, disgustingly dirty, old, outdated and broken. I will never stay there again and would never recommend.
Hotel Feature Tip : Do not stay here. Not only was the place a dump, it is far from everything. In addition, it has limited shuttle service and unless you are renting a car, this is not a good location (completely residential).

hotel staff is very friendly. Generally Copthrone Orchid Hotel is OK. The room is clean and the staff are very friendly and ready to help. Only one problem is location. The hotel is just like isolated and we always have to take taxi for every day lunch and dinner. It's very far away from eating and shopping centers. The hotel restaurant is good but kind of expensive especially for those budget travelers like us.

Good sized room. \nFree shuttle bus to DFS and botanic gardens. Very old.\nHallway to rooms exposed to rain with mats full of mould and smelling of smoke. \n We booked this hotel because it looked like it had reasonable sized rooms, and good location near botanic gardens. we however were unimpressed when our booking of 1 standard twin room and 1 standard double room was not honored. We were given two twin rooms and told all standard rooms were twins, and there were no double rooms available for our stay. this was clearly not what was advertised on there web site. The staff were very rude, and not willing to offer any alternative. There is also very little information in hotel on tours/activities and using the Internet cost $11 for 30mins! the hotels only saving grace was there free shuttle bus, and reasonable sized rooms.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Botanic gardens is near.

The room was spacious, and very clean. The bed was comfortable with nice bedlinen. The staff are also very friendly and very helpful.
Bathroom was looking as though it could do with a bit of redecorating, but it was all clean, and all worked perfectly. It's location is too far from Orchard Road to walk, but there is a shuttle bus service and the taxi's are cheap enough. The hotel is nice and the staff are helpful. The room was very nice for 3.5 star hotel.
The only downfall of this hotel was that there is nothing around the hotel - however a free shuttle service is availabe to and from Orchad road (famous shopping street) Otherwise you need to use taxi to get anywere - nothing nearby by foot.

I would recommend the Copthorne Orchid Hotel, especially for families and tours.
Restaurant Tip : Go to Newton Circus -- it gives good local cuisine, lots of variety, and is very close to the hotel.

This hotel may not be applicable for business travelers but might be a good one for families and solo travelers. Internet access is only available at the lobby for 11 Singapore dollars.

Sorry, not a four star any more IMHO. Maybe three due to need for extensive updating of rooms. And thus, due to condition and location, not the best value at these prices. For $40 USD more per evening, could have stayed at newer four star on Orchid, well worth the difference.
Shopping Tip : This is not a good location if you want to do any shopping. Pay a few dollars more and receive disportionatly great benfits.
