Staff was helpful.

Cleanliness was lacking- stains on the toilet didnt feel i could walk in without shoes on, the tv was broken, view was.. Well when you stay here you feel like you have found the ghetto of Singapore(Kings Cross of Sydney but with old pros). Blankets had ciggarette burn wholes in it and one was ripped.\nNo lock boxes. \nBad area to get a good feed, not cheap nor nice food.

Wouldnt stay here again, wouldnt recommend a family stay here, wouldnt recommend anyone stay here more then one night if you have to. not close enough to airport to justify the conditions.\nthe only people i would suggest this to would be the kind of people who are looking for a \"happy ending\" which im sure the old pros are more then happy to provide. \n

Travel tip : You make eye contact you bought it.

Friendly, helpful staff. Cheap price.

This is a tired, very basic hotel which isn't particularly clean felt quite depressing to stay in. To make matters worse, it's right in the middle of the red-light district.

I made the mistake of staying here in the name of saving a few dollars - a big mistake as the experience probably shortened my life by a few months at least. There is really nothing good to say about this place. Utterly depressing. If you really want to save money, sleep in the airport or go camping in one of the parks. Or commit a minor crime and spend the night in jail! The only good thing I can think of is that the staff were friendly and helpful. I guess it's not their fault and they should be congratulated for keeping their standards up.

Location is near to MRT Station, food store, hotel's staff is helpful

None

Before I come here, I heard this hotel in in the red-light area, but actually it did not make trouble to me. The most I like is the location near to MRT station, so it is easy to go everywhere in Singapore. Hotel staff is courteous

Customer service is ordinary friendly, attend to our request promptly.

Parking lot is too limited and it will be great if its with swimming pool.

Its kinda a good experience to stay as it worth the price. I consider it as a budget hotel and yet, it consist of every standard facilities. I would consider to stay there again if i have the chance to re-visit Spore.

Cheap.

Room : smaller than in ad pics. Place : at red-light district (Geylang).

This is not the perfect hotel. Because of many reasons : 1/ Venue : at the red-light district. 2/ Room : smaller than ad pics. 3/ blanket : dirty. It's not suitable of 2star-hotel.

Restaurant Tip : That's all.

not really sure....cleaner did a good job making up our bed but clean sheet had lints..... hmmmm

customer services need improving....some were good and friendly but others were like robots.

My husband and I loved it at singapore, beutiful island but this hotel? the down side of the trip, lucky that we did not spend that much time at the hotel. Our friend stay at a cheaper hotel that what we were paying, however they had much cleaner and better services that what we had when we visited. Red light district? not appropriate for kids.

Restaurant Tip : watch out for people ribbing you off...I paid $5.00 extra for exactly same meal from same place than one of the local....forgot to ask if they offered local rates...

clean bathroom and linens. Cheap hotel and good value for money for thoose who are not expencting high quality of service.

Would have appreciate more information about the area of the hotel, I learned by the taxi driver that it Geylang is not the best place to go in Singapore to find a hotel. The picture shown on the website is not the reflect of the rooms.

I was disapointed by this hotel, expecting more quality of the room and service as described on the website. I choose this hotel because of the transfert to the airport proposed on the description on the website but when I left the hotel I realized that there was nothing such and asked for a taxi and then the receptionist sent me outside to find one myself. The place is also very noisy and the windows of the room didn't stop that noise.

Great price, \"interesting\" location, superb staff.

Room needs paint, plastic mattress cover uncomfortable, noisy hallways.

I had read all the reviews on the Crystal hotel and it's location. It is as advertised, a place that \"doesn't exist\" in Singapore. If you don't want to see prostitutes all hours of the day, it is not a place to be walking with the kids, or the wife if she's demure. Even at 8 in the morning, there were plenty of \"hey baby\" calls and whistles walking down the street. But, there are a lot of places to eat, the area seemed safe and the hotel was a great value. \n\nThe room was clean, the aircon was cold, the water was hot (don't forget to turn on the switch early if you want a hot shower) and the tv got a few decent channels. The halls are tiled and noisy and the room shows a fair amount of wear, but it was a great value, especially for Singapore.\n\nSpecial thanks to Keith and Elaine at the front desk. They went out of their way to be helpful and friendly throughout my visit. They are two of the best front desk staff I've experienced in many years of traveling.

Shopping Tip : Go north on Lorong 18 to the main road, turn right and about a block down you'll find wonderful, cheap Indian food.

Budget Price\nConvenient for Public transport (bus/taxi/MRT)\nGood variety of cafes, restaurants and bars\nhelpful reception staff\nbasic and clean rooms

Some rooms are very small (ask for a large room)\nSometimes noisy at night and early morning (ask for room on higher floors 5th to 8th)\nIn middle of Singapore red light area (safe but should be ready for the experience)\n

I booked the Crystal for 5 nights over the Internet as it seemed a budget priced, clean and convenient hotel for Singapore city centre and for public transport. Even though I found the hotel to be in the middle of the Singapore red light area it is a surprisingly quiet and pleasant hotel - it seems to be a short stay tourist hotel and I've seen a variety of visitors there from all over the world, both male and female, young and old. Gieven the area, it is not a family hotel, I certainly wouldn't bring my children - it's an inexpensive, convenient, short stay hotel for adults.\n\nThere are many many restaurants serving chinese, indian, malay, etc food and although noisy and very busy in the evenings it seems a very safe place to be, I have experienced no problems at all, the locals are very friendly. There is no restaurant at the hotel and you have to collect your hot water in a thermos from a heater on each floor - basic coffee and water are provided in rooms, wardrobe is very small for longer stay, beds only have simple sheet and blanket\n\n\n\n

Hotel Feature Tip : Ask for large room on floors 5 to 8

excellent value for money.

On edge of red light district.

The hotel is within walking distance on a cool day of the mass transit rail system but plentiful cheap taxis ply their trade as do the working girls. The rooms are not large but are clean and comfortable with many restaurants and bars within a few minute walk.

Restaurant Tip : get stuck into a curry.

Clean, the receptionists very friendly, no night ladies and pimps in front of hotel, sillent area than other hotels in geylang, cheap price hotel,

About 15 minutes walk to Nearest MRT station , no night ladies in front of hotel but there are so many night ladies and pimps along way to the hotel and very annoying guests, some rooms dont have remote control for the television set, no free wifi, internet is very expensive, the blanket smell unpleasant. No socket for Indonesian electronic devices.

I am very happy stay at Fragrance Crystal hotel due to has a cheap price, clean, and sillent area than other hotels in Geylang area. The receptionists were very friendly, and assist me during in hotel, the room very simple but clean enough, but there is no remote control in room no. 202 , the blanket smell unpleasant at that time. Despite there is no night ladies in front of hotel but the way go to this hotel was uncomfortable coz there were so many night ladies and pimps forced me to use their services. The Nearest MRT station is far from this hotel almost 15 minutes walking.

Travel tip : The hotel unsuitable to stay family with underage children due to there are so many night ladies and pimps offer some service to people pass the street.

Well, the staff was always friendly and they had internet for $1 per minute. Hot shower was working and the room was clean.

The original price of $110 per night is very high. Even though I got a discount to $44 it was still very high for this kind of hotel. Many people go there just for stay with a girl for a couple of hours and it is kinda noisy, since doors get slammed some times. The bed is very cheap and the room was very small.

The stay was ok but I would get something else next time. It is rather a short-stay hotel for many people. Thus it is kinda noisy in the morning when people are leaving their room. But the service was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the heart of the red light district but it is a very lively area to stay. It is mainly Chinese and there are a lot of good places to eat.

The room is clean and with hot water. The neighbourhood is not that great but still quite and safe. At least there's no one interrupt your sleep in the late night.

I don't see anything bad in this hotel.

If next time I have to go back to Singapore, I think I will stay in the same hotel and I believe I will have the chance to go back there. It's affordable, clean, and nice even though the neighborhood is not that great. This place is only a couple blocks to the MRT station and it's on the very convenient location. A lot of cafes around this hotel and you don't need to worry that you can't find a good place to eat late at night or early in the morning. All these restaurants open 24 hours.

Nightlife Tip : There are a lot of night life activities around the hotel. You won't get bored for sure.

The rooms are clean, including the bedsheets and towels. Staff at reception is friendly.

The lift noise is quite annoying, there was a shower curtain missing, the aircon worked quite strange

Overall, I would recommend this hotel especially for young people/couples who won't mind sleeping in a red light district are and are rather searching for a nice and cheap place to spend few nights. However, I wouldn't recommend this place for families since the rooms are rather small and there is no dining service available.
