This hotel is located right outside the CBD, right by Chinatown and is within walking distance or a short taxi ride to downtown Singapore. The building is fairly iconic and hence, is easy to find.
The selection of food at breakfast was light on both food quality and variety. The cheese served was processed cheese slices - a big no-no at any serious breakfast buffet.
- Shopping Tip : Central mall is a five-minute walk to the north and contains many excellent Japanese restaurants.

What's nearby ?
- Boat Quay
- Clarke Quay - See the legacy of Singapore's history by cruising down the Singapore River in an authentic bumboat. Bumboats piled cargo back and forth between ships moored in the busy port and many warehouses along the river banks, before the days of containerized shipping. The cruise passes godowns and old shophouses, that now stand as the silent reminders of the past. Don't forget to catch a glimpse of Furama Hotel from the River.
- Far East Square is built on the traditional Chinese concept of yin and yang - in which the universe and life is kept in balance by the 5 elements: water, fire, wood, metal and earth. Check out the "Fuk Tak Chi" Museum, which gives you a glimpse into the way of life of early immigrants. Then take a slow stroll through the Heritage Trail and discover interesting facts about the bygone era.
