Good location, near to almost everywhere
Friendly staff, well maintained hotel

This is a pretty old hotel but well maintained and comfortable. The hotel is located just outside the central business district and only 15 mins cab ride from downtown shopping. One little disadvantage is that there are no shops nearby, so you have to travel a little to shopping centers. But the hotel offers decent food. Nearest big shopping mall is called Great World, about 30 mins walk away, suggest take a cab. Many hotels in this area, this is one of the better ones. There are also a few boutique hotels in the vicinity that are much newer.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Try to get a deluxe room in the block behind, newer decor.

Great old hotel lobby, ok rooms, poor location
Fantastic lobby and lounge area
6.3
I stayed 2 nights. At check in I was not asked if I wanted smoking or non-smoking but as a non-smoker I always stay in the latter. The area outside the lift smelt of smoke but the room less so. There were also 2 small beds rather than 1 large. I called reception to see if I could change but was told no availability but I could upgrade for $85 per night. I asked if the room was a smoking room and was told it wasn't. I subsequently discovered it was but not until the next day. I complained to a person in reception who spoke to her manager and I was upgraded to a Club room free of charge and given free wi-fi and access to the exectutive lounge. The combination of a poor room and the very poor performance of the staff member on the first night, together with a swift and very good compensation on the second day result in probably a better rating from me than an uneventful 2 nights.
The first room was quite large but basic, the second was nicer and higher up with a better view.
In all cases (and likewise at the City Centre Furama) there should be free wi-fi (other hotels do it, word will soon get round), and the net curtains are tired, stiff and look like they need replacing. A detail but it stayed with me. Also all the hotels I stayed in (4 altogether) had fridges (a positive, unlike UK hotels where this is less common) but they were all too small. Customers like to keep their food and drink cool, so a bit more fridge room in addition to the mini-bar please.
A final negative is the location, which is not central and is quite a long walk from the central area (e.g Clarke Quay MRT) so taxis more of a necessity than a luxury unless you're at peak energy levels.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Have a drink in the huge lounge area, an ambience of cool and sumptuous luxury

The service and the smiles.

A bit disappointed as they have changed some service of the executive club, but nevertheless it was excellent. The breakfast has very wide choice.

Good service and I like the location. The hotel staff are really excellent. The hotel is well situated and getting to the city center and various shopping malls is really easy.

fun and tranquility in a great location
location, view, spacious room
7.7
Had a 1 night stay over here. Hotel is located in a pretty decent area in my opinion. 1) it is away from the noisy crowd but 2) near enough for singapores attractions to be easily accessed.
Only downside would be the fact that its right opposite a residential area. A little bit turned off because I kept wondering if they had binoculars on us. The hotel also had a small mix up when they gave another guest access to our room. Imagine the shock! But they called within the next min to apologize.
Nightlife Tip:
You can visit zouk (one of sgpores top club) which is pretty near! And after some partying you may wish to head opposite for some indian muslim food

Prompt room service with excellent customer service except the toothpaste provided is "hardened".
Shopping Tip:
Near to Chinatown and Orchard Road shopping belt. Both within reach by 15 minutes bus journey.

Great reception
Reasonable price nearest the city area
7.7
Furama River Front has always been one of our most favourite. Reception is great, services is fast. Although location is not right on the shopping or nigh life area, but the distance is not so far, and with the price offered, it make it worth it.
Kintamani, the Indonesian restaurant is also another great attraction for us.
Another good attraction for me, .. at least there is designated smoking room, which is getting rarer in Singapore.
