Almost boutique style of hotel. Not too crowded. Love the arty atmosphere. Good location. friendly staff. good price. reasonable price for dining in.
The coloring of the decor in the dining room is a bit too vibrant and cheap looking for me. I believe a few comfortable seating should be placed in the entry lobby of the hotel. A free shuttle to Orchard Road will be a great bonus to the hotel.
I have been staying in the Gallery hotel 3 times already and will be going back in July. as a matter of fact i call it "my hotel" in Singapore. I love the simplicity, no fuss comfort of the hotel. Love and truly enjoy the selection of restaurants at the Robertson and Clark Quey. Enjoy walking to any direction towards the City Center or China town and Little India. I hardly take a taxi but if i decided to take one. It is always available and very offordable.

great design
friendly and helpful staff
tiny beds (single and only 180x70 i think)
room could not be made dark during daylight
was woken up by phone call in early morning
great design and excellent location, but the tiny bed prohibits me going again
Restaurant Tip : Great cafe at corner on Riverside Quay. I am a very critical espresso drinker and theirs was excellent!

- great design
- friendly staff
- excellent location
- beds are too small
- rooms are not pitch dark
Great location and very nice design, but the beds (2 separate beds of 190x70 which is really a children's size) were too small by any standard. The blinds and curtains were insufficient to make the room as dark as should be, and on top, the phone rang sometime in the morning, one hour before my planned wake up time (I don't know who it was but it really pissed me off)
Restaurant Tip : Great cafe with excellent espresso at the corner at Riverside Quay.

The look, which made it stand out compared to other hotels, and the location. Quiet area, but still accessible to a lot of stuff.
Supply of stuff like bath items and coffee and tea was not consistent and often out of synch with the number of people registered as occupants of the room. During the first night there was just one set of bath items, and replenishment was not that regular. Ditto with coffee and tea. I was also disappointed that breakfast was not included in the room price, but then that may have to do more with Agoda's arrangement than with Gallery itself. We also wished that they made up the room earlier each day.

Gallery Hotel was a great experience for us because it was not like any hotel we have ever stayed in before. And despite its minimalist design, there was still plenty of storage for our stuff. Lovely artwork on the walls, although we wish it had more....we weren't able to get around checking out the art/photo gallery that was said to be in the premises -- is there really one?
We also appreciated its location; being in a residential area, it was peaceful, just the way we like it. Loved it being beside the river -- that made it so easy to walk to sites without fear of being reduced to roadkill.
Restaurant Tip : Should you be like us and billeted at the Gallery without breakfast included in the price, we suggest you check out Epicurious round the corner. If you also want to have cheaper eats later in the day and into the night (the restos around can be quite pricey), hit the Liang Court mall (there's a small food court in the basement), as well as Central mall. May mean a bit of walking, but then walking's good for you :-)

Clean, Modern Looking, Quiet, Comfortable Room, Value for Money
I make it a point to stay here if I am ever in Singapore. The plus point for me is that the hotel is clean, modern looking, quiet at nights, easy accessible by cabs and value for money. Staff is polite and helpful and the housekeeping staff is ever willing to provide assistance.

My room was twin beds which is not convenience;
The hotel was very good; easy to everything. There is nearby 5 minutes walk a nice center with some shops around and many restaurants and coffee shops; The location is great near busy area around no need take a taxi to go around;
The staff was very welcoming and speaking well English; serve you first class and professional; The room was very convenient with internet access etc;. The room was clean always with ability to open window and get a fresh air that was very good but you need to sign in advance on a paper.
I would recommend to my friends.

Good Location; Professional and courteous staff.
Breakfast not included with room, have to change elevators to get to room.
The Gallery Hotel is a very pleasant hotel, following the theme of minimalist design. The Glasshauz room was surprisingly small. The room is disappointing if compared to the "designer" rooms featured in the advertising. But fairly quiet and easy to get around even if a 10 minutes walk from the nearest MRT station.
Restaurant Tip : True Blue has a new location near the Peranakan Museum.

Suites are not all what they are cracked up to be. Glazzhaus was totally different from one I stayed in last year....and much smaller.
Very cool and sophisticated hotel. Great bar on the river and you can't beat the locale. Walking distance from everything. Pool is quite small but it certainly doesn't take away from the experience you will have at the Gallery in Singapore.

For me, it was the best deal on the day.
What was once cutting edge is now looking a little 90's.
Of the trying very hard to be stylish boutique hotels in Singapore, it's still probably one of the better value, but it's no longer as quirky and unique as it was, say ten years ago. If it looks pricey to you, then I'd suggest looking around, but if the deal looks appealing then take it. It fits into the cool verging on sterile, rather than warm and romantic. Depends on your taste, really.

modern...we had a room right next to the pool, which was very convenient.
rooms were small, not suitable for families with small children.
We always like to stay near the Singapore river and we heard about this award winning hotel. I must say the pictures taken were more outstanding than the real thing. We had a toddler and infant with us at the time. I wouldn't recommend this as a family hotel as the room we were in was cramped. It was modern and tastefully furnished, my daughter liked the bathroom! A plus point was that the room was right next to the swimming pool, which meant that I could watch my husband and kids swimming from the room. The kids loved the shallow pool, and I loved looking over the roofs in the early morning during my swim.
There was no need to have breakfast in the hotel as there were so many cafes near the hotel.
Restaurant Tip : eat your breakfast at the numerous restaurants near the hotel.

Location, design, comfort, food.
errr.... maybe it could be a little bit cheaper...
In a cul-de-sac in the heart of Singapore, this hotel is beautifully designed and has a different feel to others in Singapore. Right next to the river with a couple of quiet bars around it, it's a great place to stay for a few nights or just for overnight transit. You can walk along the river front and eat at the many restaurants around. You can walk to the centre easily to do some more shopping. The food in the restaurant is great - their set menu with wine is well worth it. Definitely my elected hotel in Singapore.
Travel tip : Go to the bar just behind the hotel, facing the river front and have a cool beer at nightfall. sit on one of the log benches - surprisingly comfortable!
