Location, style, very friendly and helpful staff, ambiance, bedlinen, the Gordon Grill. This is the 'other' nostalgia hotel in Singapore, the one when you can't afford Raffles or the Fullerton, and the one with the very best location just behind Orchard Road and a very short walk to the Orchard MRT. Well mannered and dignified but not in the least snooty, something the other two nostalgia hotels do suffer from. The Goodwood Park is the more accessible for this.
Travel tip : great breakfast buffet,

Pricey. Small TV side of bed. Great architechture with a nice pool side restraunts and tea/coffee lounge, nicely decorated. Rooms are big and comfortable. However only a small 14" TV hiding inside side closet. A bit pricey.

Low value for money, low character Goodwood park is not the charming hotel one can expect: the historic building you see in the pictures is something you just see when you walk in, as most of the real hotel is a new, impersonal building nearby. While the location is good (3 minute walk from Orchard Road), the value for money is poor. Personnel are sometimes very welcoming and useful, and some other times just indifferent.
Travel tip : To the contrary to what might seem, this hotel is not an alternative to the Raffles or the Fullerton: it is not architecturally similar to the first, and is just one category lower to the second (which has similar prices, though).

We would not hesitate to stay again the place is well located & yet it gives the impression of being in a peacefull area out of the bustle.

This hotel is located at a place very convenient to have a meal or do shopping. Public transport is also good.

Goodwood is an old colonial building so its a bit worn in places but also adds a charm. Easy place to stay with children without taking away from a relaxed stylish hotel. Pool in front of afternoon tea diners means you have an audience while swimming.

I know there are much better rooms in the hotel than the one a had. Guests are mislead by the term Deluxe Room

We will definitely stay at Goodwood Park next time we visit Singapore. It was central and yet not on the busy Orchard Road. I can't recommend it enough. I will also book through Agoda again because I loved the online live support when I had a query and we got a great price. Thank you guys!

I needed to contact Agoda Customer Services to be reassured that the Hotel had indeed been booked. Even now, I have no idea about why the Hotel had no record of our booking, and it is almost as if by buying online and receiving slightly reduced rates, the Hotel cared less about us. Also, for those who do not like walking, it is a 5 minute walk to the MRT stop at Orchard, which is OK on the way out as it is mostly downhill, but on the way back, tiring.
Restaurant Tip : The Marriot Hotel on the corner of Orchard and Scotts does a High Tea from about 3.30 - 6pm each day and it is all you can eat for about $35 per person. It is very good value and you will need to book. Be warned about the cost of wine - it is exceptionally pricey in Singapore, although there is a large Carrefours at MRT station Dhobi Gaut where you can stock up, plus the 7/11s in Scotts Road offer good value.
