Close to the airport.
Free airport shuttle bus.
Good gym and pool area.
Exec floor for business travellers. Hotel is midway between the airport and the city, it is located across the road from a large shopping mall with shopping and food to suit all tastes. Close by the mall are some street style market stalls.
The hotel is approx 0.5 km from the east coast parkway walking/cycling track many hawker food stalls can also be found along the walkway.
The street that runs behind the hotel also has many well priced local restaurants.
Hotel Feature Tip : The hotel shuttle bus can be found by turning left and walking to the end of the building when exiting the terminal, there you will see the bus parking area

No particular negative experiences The hotel is very well situated with
Park Way across the street and easy access to the city with the number 36 public bus. The Airport Shuttle which runs from 7am to 2am is very good with cost savings over taxi costs.
All facilties are of a good standard- the staff are professional and pleasant and the rooms are clean quiet and of a good standard
Nightlife Tip : Visit Chevies Bar - 2 minutes walk

old furniture and interiour, smelly smoker room, although we received a nice and warm welcome at the grand mercure, this hotel defintely has seen better years in the past. our room and the interrieur did looked pretty used and could use a slight refurbishment. the room we received had a strong smoke scent - which is not very nice to experience for non smokers, the free transport to the airport does not work if you have to catch an early flight because there is no shuttle bevore 08.00 a.m.

The Grand Mercure is a lovely hotel with spacious, tastefully decorated rooms. However, it is a little far from the city centre and the main tourist attractions. Furthermore, it is not located near an MTR station which is normally the best way to get around Singapore. To get in or out of the city it is necessary to take a 20+ minute bus-ride from the nearby stop. On the plus side it has a good gym and is within walking distance of the East Coast Park and Parkway Shopping Centre which has a great food court.
Restaurant Tip : The hotel is quite far from the city centre. The best value for food near the hotel is the Parkway Centre food court located just across the road.

classy, sleek-looking, impeccable room cleanliness, definitely more than worth the four-star rating -too far from the city
-pool too small Overall it was quite a pleasant stay for me. It is a bit far from the city area so need to incur quite a bit of taxi fare, but then it's significantly cheaper than those located more centrally so still worth the while. Just a stone's throw from the east coast park, very nice for an evening stroll.

hoep breakfrast & internet proviade for free. the hotel located a bit far from CBD, but does't matter. hope the hotel provided free breakfast for guest, also no charge for wireless internet.
Shopping Tip : nearby have PP Shopping center, easy to get all things that we want.

Very clean and great service. Great to get picked up and sent back to airport on a free shuttle. Loved the shopping across the road we want to stay again. Great to get picked up and returned to the airport by free shuttle. The hotel was fantastic we loved it. Very clean and helpful staff. Great shopping across the road got some great bargains. We want to bring our children back they will love it also. Rooms were very roomy and nothing was too much trouble to help us. Great job.
Shopping Tip : Great across the road in the mall and on the street. Got 3 T Shirts for $5 Singapore dollars - bargain.

Easy access to the airport with a complimentary shuttle provided by the hotel. A shopping and food court attached to the hotel was very convenient. We spent only about 1/2 a day before leaving for the airport. There is nothing adverse to report. A very convenient place to stop over before or after taking a flight. The complimentary shuttle to the airport and back is a nice and convenient feature. The staff was very friendly. Enjoyed our very short stay.
Travel tip : Had no time for shopping but there were several shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Not so far from the airport.
Pleasant staff.
Good food. I had to request fresh milk and power adaptor. My wife and I were most satisified with our accomodation. The staff were most helpful and friendly. It was a pleasure to be able to walk accross the road and be able to visit the large shopping centre. The bars and resturants at the hotel were most impressive too.
Shopping Tip : Heaps of shops to select from.

Very good connections to the airport and good value for money. The decor was a little dated and one night there was loud music from a wedding or disco that could be heard in our room. The shuttle bus going to and from Singapore Airport was very convenient. It was so efficient that after I checked in to my room I caught it back to the airport to meet my wife who was arriving on a different flight. It was a good hotel and a bargain price compared to other hotels in Singapore, which are very expensive.

relatively close to airport I was not very pleased with the hotel. The building itself is not very attractive. It's not that it was terrible but it seemed tired and worn with the rooms certainly looking their age. While the staff was correct and efficient enough they gave, with one exception, Billy, the impression of only going through the motions without any real joy or pleasure behind their actions. My reason for choosing the hotel was its relative closeness to the airport but even there it's still a 20 minute shuttle ride. It would have been much better to go another 10 minutes and get much better value as we had previously had at the Merchant Court.

Close proximity to relative's house; good shopping complex opposite; good transport connections; good shower. Breakfast was too expensive; not great choice of local dishes. Pool was too cold. I chose this hotel as it was the closest 4 star hotel to my parent's flat and having stayed here previously. The hotel is ideal for its proximity to the Parkway Shopping Complex and also the various shops and restaurants on East Coast Road, a short walk away. There are also a number of buses at the front of the hotel giving good access to the city centre and Orchard Road. The room is clean although slightly dated; pool was rather cold at this time of the year. Unfortunately we found the breakfast was rather expensive plus there wasn't a great choice of local dishes.
Shopping Tip : Parkway Shopping Complex, just opposite the hotel, has a great range of shops and restaurants and a food court with reasonable prices.

Free welcome beer at pool side bar was nice. Free shuttle service is avalable after 7am and before it they offer airport taxi service.but it costs 25S$ and expensive than local taxi.So poor. Hotel located nice place to access airport and shopping complex and hawkers are just across the street.However it's standard hotel but little bit expensive than actual service value,I thought.
