Huge room but smell old

Manage to get quite low rate for this room. Room is huge and look nice, but smell strange. Other than that everything is fine, good location just walking distance to MRT. Easy to travel every where.

This hotel is very near the city hall MRT and it is very convenient to travel around the city. The hotel is also near the raffles city shopping mall and peninsula plaza. At night, if you are hungry, you can go to 7-11 which is only 3 min walk from the hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Very near the marina bay sands and marina bay garden.

I stayed at this hotel several times and always get consistent service. Reception is generally busy but they attend promptly. Upon arrival my preference type of room was not available then manager walked to me and quickly upgraded. It is good location, walking distance to City Hall MRT and Clarke.

nicely renovated hotel from last grand park hotel, located in town (city hall area) which make it so accessible to go anywhere. room is a tad small but overall is very decent size if two of you are traveling. great service with lovely receptionist and prompt service. would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quality hotel with a very affordable price in a place like singapore where any hotel (even those much older ones than this) are much more expensive.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
for shop-a-holic- try to go to raffles city shopping mall which is like 10 minutes walk only (ask the friendly concierge or receptionist if you are not too sure where is located.)
for arty-farty - try to go esplanade which is like 20 mins walk (singapore version of theaters by the bay)
for electronic-savvy - try to go to funan shopping complex which is smack on your right after you came out from the hotel.

We arrived to a pleasant reception and were issued a room in the smokig floor as asked for. We got to the room and it smelled terribly so we immediately made a complaint and were given another room. The new room was exactly as was expected from the images on the net,spacious,clean and well designed. The previous room was in need of renovation.

Couldn't fault it - service was absolutely great, rooms large and clean. Breakfast was delicious - lots of choices. At night the bar had live music which was not imposing. Within easy walking distance of Clarke Quay and many other attractions. Well positioned. Would definately stay there again.
