the hotel is located near most major attractions in singapore, and can be recommended both for tourists and guests on business. the people at the reception were lovely, and quite efficient, and was able to offer us a late checkout till 4pm. the hotel has a decent pool and gym. only negative may be that the hotel does not really feel like a 5 start hotel it claims to be. the room and the hardware in the hotel look worn out, and needs upgrade. the toilet bowl was actually broken, and the common area, while it looked ok, looked a bit dated. the housekeeping is a bit strange in that they barely speak english, and insist on calling you even if you try to leave a do not disturb sign. otherwise, as most singapore hotels are, the service, and staff were well trained and helpful.

The folks at the hotel are courteous and efficient. We were quickly attended to by the concierge when we got there. The reception desk could do better by smiling a bit. They were efficient though. The lounge is quite nice and has good lighting, not dark like some hotels. There's also a small garden you can see from the lounge. I had a meeting with some biz associates at the Bar in the lounge and we didn't have to look somewhere else.
I stayed at the Deluxe room which is just big enough for a biz traveller like me. One thing I didn't like in the room is it's definitely not sound-proof or even semi. I could hear the doors closing and flushes from the neighbor's toilet. Nice-to-haves like a microwave oven isn't there.
This hotel is nicely located quite near the marina/harbour. All the shopping malls are either just across the street or a few minutes away by foot. The Funan Digital Life Mall would be a good place to shop for gadgets or cameras, etc. If you want to go for a gastronomic experience, you can go to the basement of Raffles CityLink, just 5 mins, away and eat to your heart's content from a wide-range of good restos there. The esplanade can also be reached in 15-20 mins by foot or you can take the train if you want to get there quicker.

Rooms were standard but ok.We dont have breakfast included but we ate dinner one time at the lobby restaurant and the servers were very attentive...filling our water glass as soon as they are empty. Our check in was fast but check out was delayed a little as there were groups of newly arrived tour groups.Doorman was always smiling and ready to help you get a taxi at all times.

I have 2 very young children travelling with me this time. Hence, I need a baby cot and an extra bed in the room. When asked whether a superior room can fit in these 2 items, the hotel staff (Joey) actually recommended an upgrade to a corner deluxe room with a sofa bed in the room. That room is definitely more spacious, in term of cost wise, the upgrading fees is less than the rent of an extra bed. We are very pleased with the dedicated service attitude of Joey.
We also like the red apples available at the reception. Hotels normally give sweets, so it's a healthy and refreshing change
The lobby of the hotel is modern but the room condition is a little run down. We find the lighting in the room is a bit too dim, and we were definitely not impressed by the condition of the baby cot at all. We turned out didn't use the cot at all as it's not safe for my 5-month old baby to sleep in.
