Front desk staff can be very busy. Some are too mechanical and robotic. Our check in staff member was glum the whole time. Busy but good hotel and will definitely stay here again.

Very clean bedding, fast response from personnel to any problems or questions (they even looked up the directions and phone number for my business meeting while I was checking in!), nice buffet breakfast at reasonable price, close to everything, very convenient transportation (one block from metro stop and free shuttles to Singapore Flyer and other attractions). Safety and convenience! The first room I had smelled very bad. However, I called the management and they moved me to a better room, which was great. The rooms are a bit small for the price, but perhaps this is par for Singapore, I don't know as it was my first trip. This hotel has the nicest and most responsive staff I have ever encountered in Asia! At first I was disappointed with the hotel, as the room I got smelled very bad and was smaller than I was used to. However, I called the front desk and they immediately moved me to a nicer room. Also, when I was checking in, the receptionist noticed I had a cane and upgraded me to a room with a walk-in shower so that it would be easier for me. The other staff -- the concierge, the bellman, the restaurant staff -- all remembered me from the first day, and they would ask how the previous day's outings went, and make recommendations for the new day. They were extremely helpful and kind. The hotel is in a very safe, yet convenient location right in the center of town, so this was an added bonus! Despite the somewhat steep price for my budget, I would definitely stay in this hotel again on return to Singapore.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The metro stop is less than a block away, and from there you can catch a number of free shuttles to area attractions. Ask the concierge for more information.

Near to sightseeing place The location is near to Merlion where is symbol of Singapore, and Clark Quey, Boat Quey are also there. I is also very close to bussiness area. Recently, the hotel fee in Sinpapore is getting higher and higher. But this hotel fee is quite reasonable, compare to other hotel. But, for shopping, it is not convenience.

Comfortable bed and room, large bathroom, good service of staff. Easy to find because of its location. Not much shopping mall around. You will feel its name of grand when you enter its lobby, its big. Staffs are polite and helpful, they upgraded my room with no extra cost. I like the room decoration too, its new and you will feel comfotrtable,
Nightlife Tip : Many many food stalls just 10 mins walk away.

This hotel located very near to the MRT and convenient to travel about. Nearby also has shoppings. The only problem with this hotel is they woke me up early in the morning around 9am to tell me that I am checking out today. I was so angry as I had late nite on Saturday. Why must they do this as checking out time is 12noon.

The hotel is within walking distance to the City Hall MRT station and 2 bus stops. Plenty of taxis around. Overall the hotel is very convenient

We managed to check in at 1pm. The room is nice, cosy and clean which is the most important. They allowed late check out till 3pm. For the price, we will definitely be back!

At first we were given a room with attached shower and bathtub and we thought all rooms came with seperate shower and bathtub since we stayed in Grand Plaza before but we go to know from the receptionist that they have different types of rooms although they are deluxe rooms.Therefore,we requested for the one with seperate bathtub and shower as we prefered that. If we didn't ask,we wouldnt know about this!
Shopping Tip : This hotel is very near to all the shopping centers.

Good location. Good value for money hotel with clean, tidy decent size rooms. Were upgraded on arrival. Despite letting the hotel know our arrival time, the room was not ready and we had to wait for 45 minutes.
Breakfast was not included in the price and was expensive (good selection of shops nearby where breakfast could be bought). The hotel is in an ideal location as a base for exploring the city. Within walking distance to main Quays area, Raffles hotel and Chinatown. Underground station very close by so convenient for getting to all other places. Hotel is in the business district so not too many tourist traps. Overall a very good hotel, good price and good location.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : I would highly recommend a trip to Singapore Zoo - particularly the white tigers. I'm generally not a big fan of zoos however this one is the closest you'll get to seeing some of the animals in their natural habitat. Don't bother getting one of the expensive taxis - the bus service is very easy and convenient. You can get a discount voucher at the information counter in the airport when you arrive. This gives you discounted admission to the Zoo and also the Night Safari which is brilliant! If visiting Singapore, the Zoo and Night Safari is an absolute must!
