Nice and reasonable Hotel. Situated in a location where it's easy to get transport to other parts of Singapore. Staff is friendly and helpful though.

Reasonable rooms but very small and staff is friendly.

Red-light area, can get uncomfortable.

  • Restaurant Tip : Great food just outside on Geylang.

Hotel 81 Princes in Singapore Gelyang area is a very good hotel for the small business men and working people who visit Singpore for a short visit, the hotel is just 10 min walk form Kallang MRT or Aljurned MRT. After you are back from work you can have some good food at Gelang Road. The hotel staff is really good and they will give all the info you ask for and the local phone calls are very cheap at this hotel you will have to pay only Singapore $ 1.00 only for unlimited call. Rooms in the hotel is very good and it is connected with the internet which is bonus and bath room is good with all the time running hot water, and you have airport shuttle to this hotel also, so guys book your rooms at this hotel and enjoy your short visit. Please note don't go with you your family to this hotel.

Hotel staff are very good and gives as much info you required, the rooms are pretty clean and spacious, and a nice bathroom too for the best and cheep rates

hotel is good but not recommended for families, please don't stay in this hotel with your family.

  • Nightlife Tip : Go around in the Gelang road and enjoy good night life with good bars and KTV lounges.

Overall very good conditions, the rooms are clean, tidy and the staff are efficient. Strategically located in busy and bustle city. Food stalls are just within walking distance. The only setback is this hotel is not suitable for family vacations as it is near the red light district.

Cleanliness.

Newspaper to read.

In my overview, Hotel 81 Pricess is O.K. for me. The room rate is reasonable when compared to its facilities and location. The receptionists was so friendly with good hospitality. The room was fairly cleaned. Around the hotel there are many choices of food to serve with reasonable prices, especially seafood and Chinese cuisins. The travel by buses is more comfort than MRT because the nearest MRT station is Kallang that take 15-20 minute walk from the hotel.

Reasonable price, Friendly staff, Fairly cleaned room, Many choices of food around hotel, Easy transportation by bus.

Red light area, unsuitable for ladies and families, 15-20 min. walk to Kallang MRT station.

Basically the room is compact and is suitable for those who are looking for a budget place to stay. The bed is pretty bad, as it is quite hard and the pillow covers material is nylon, that is not too comfortable. Other than that, it is located near to lots of local food stalls. It is about 15 to 20 minutes walk to the MRT station. Overall, A convenient place to stay.

Value for Money. Instant Drinks and noodles provided.

Bed is not comfortable. Compact Room and is located in a red light district.

  • Restaurant Tip : Local coffee shops or restaurants have lots of variety - local food and seafood. Price are reasonable but avoid ordering sea food as it can be pricey.

The hotel was not that bad, although the price was quite steep for the budget conscious (Actually, I checked-in during the Formula 1 night race event, hence the price!). Walking distance are restaurants, joints & the road where some buses ply their routes (although it took me a while before I learned how to ride the buses). Hotel is around 10 to 15 mins. walking distance away from 2 train stations -Aljunied & kallang. The hotel staff is nice & friendly.

Near restaurants & bars & road. Hotel staff is nice.

Stains on the bed & bathroom has no shower curtain.

  • Restaurant Tip : Try the G7 restaurant. Explore & you will find good & affordable food.

Reasonable quality with reasonable price. Guest Rating: 3.5

We stayed in the Hotel81-Princess for one night. I was surprised to find my room had open view that facing a grassed football field. I could watch people playing football. Room was small but acceptable to us as we only need a room to sleep and wash. Bath room was small too but also equipped with bath tub. The staff was friendly and willing to help. Easy to find food nearby and MRT station was within walking distance. No trouble at all although it was located in red-light district. We have no complaint for the quality and services being compared with the low price.

Helpful staff, equipped with bath tub, ~15mins walking distance to MRT station, easy to find food around.

Found ants in room, bath room was so small.

The Hotel 81 Princess is a great value way to enjoy a stay in Singapore on a budget. If you take particular exception to staying in a red-light district it's not the hotel for you, but it's super-safe, has lots of fantastic food options nearby and you'll get to see an aspect of the "real" Singapore. You won't get any hassle from the punters in the area unless you really go out of your way to look as though you work in a brothel. Hairdryer, Milo, noodles, shower cap, comfy bed, telly, air-con. You don't get this in a backpackers and it's just as (if not more) expensive.

Really good value for money. Clean. Pleasant, helpful staff.

It's a red-light district outside the door. It's a bit of a walk to the MRT.

  • Hotel Feature Tip : the sweets in the lobby are a nice touch!

The location is not good, because it is in a red-light area. It takes 10 minutes to the hotel from the nearest train station. I asked the receptionist to prepare twin beds, but she said that there is no twin-bed room in this hotel. The room was small but clean. This hotel is good for one day stay.

This hotel is right in the middle of the main red light district of Singapore. In the evenings, there are dozens of young ladies lining the streets and they come into this hotel for an hour at a time with their customers. The hotel is designed with this - rather than comfort for longer term visitors - in mind. Even so, the rooms are of a rather low standard without a fridge and with little room to move around.

Friendly staff, interesting location

A little far from the MRT, no fridge in the room, cups were dirty

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Be sure to check out Sentosa - and take the cable car back at night, the view is spectacular!
