I was truely disappointed staying in Hotel 81 Selegie. I stayed in Hotel 81 Fragrance a few times, i was very happy with the services provided. Staff on the whole gave me good impression. Everyone knows that weather in Singapore is very hot and at times too dry, the housekeeper would not show sour face or reluctant to give extra bottles of mineral water on request. However, the management of the Hotel 81 Selegie seems totally different. In most probability, your request of the extra bottles of mineral water would be turned down, whereas the own staff can take the mineral water and the cup noodles belonging to the hotel in front of you. Most of the staff could hardly smile. There is an incidence the housekeeper didn't clean the room for me after 3.30 pm, the receptionist not only didn't apologize but only put the blame I didn't leave the key for them to keep. All these while I had never left the key to the hotel receptionist because most of hotel receptionist will pass the key to any one who just mentions the room number with identifying if that person is the occupant of the room at that time. How dangerous can this be! I will not go in this hotel any more.

Near to Bugis street, Bugis junction, Sim Lim Square, Bencoolen Square, OG, etc, also not far from MRT at Bugis junction or Little India.

Room is small (understand as a budget hotel), but the worst is the mirror is facing the bed, staff not friendly, can't even provide extra bottle of mineral water.

what a small room! Hotel 81 - Selegie has good location (within 5 min to little India MRT station by walkway) ,The best electronic product shopping mall Sin Lim square is near by hear, too. If you want to have a city tour of little India, hotel 81 - Selegie is a good choice if you do not mind a small room.

good location (within 5 min to little Indian MRT station by walkway). quality internet.

Overall, I am pleased with the hotel selection. It's not the most comfortable hotel I've stayed in but considering you will most likely be sightseeing/shopping/eating else where, at the end of the day a bed is all you need. I am very happy with the price I was able to get the room for with Agoda - even at the peak rate.

- Central location. - 5 mins walk away from MRT station (Little India). - Relatively new establishment. - Have all the essentials (TV, DVD player, mirror, toilet + shower, beds, kettle, hair dryer). - Complimentary luggage storage if checking out earlier than departure.

- Tiny rooms. - No internet ($10 extra per day of usage, prior notice required to establish connection). - No refrigerator. - Lack of dining options in the surrounding area. - Rooms are not sound proof so if your room is near the elevator prepared to hear voices, foot steps and lift arrival sounds.

  • Hotel Feature Tip : Remember how to get to and from MRT station - it is easy to lose your way on the way back to the hotel if you don't take note of directions.

you just need 7 min by walkway to little Indian to feel traditional India culture. the best electronic product shopping mall in Singapore (Sim Lim square) is near by hear, too. You can have a city tour through MRT and just need 5~7 min to walk to Dobbygua / Little India / Bugis MRT station.

Selegie is in a great central location - walking distance from Little India, MRT and Bugis Street. The rooms were miniscule - barely enough room to fit a suitcase but then room to walk around. The worst thing was that the walls were like paper - so every drunken conversation or phone ring that happened on that floor was basically happening in your room! You couldn't open any of the windows so the rooms couldn't be aired out. The rooms were basic, clean and well maintained though. Considering the price of accommodation in Singapore, it is, overall, not a bad cheap place to stay.

Close to MRT and attractions.

Rooms are TINY Funky smell and no windows to air the room

We have read the previous comments before we book into this hotel. We noted from the comments that the room is small but clean and convenient. Although we have never experienced with hotel 81, we decided that it is worth trying. Feeling quite confident, we decided to book for 5 days. When we arrive there we requested a higher floor and the staff gave us a room on the 5th floor that is not facing the traffic. We have a good comfortable and quiet 5 nights there. If there is a chance to be in Singapore we will not hesitate to book into the same hotel, provided that the price is right.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and convenient (5 min walk to Little India MRT Station).

The weakness is the room is small and so as the bath room (you could have a shower while you go to toilet and brush your teeth at the same time).

Hotel 81 Selegei was offered to me as an alternative to another preferred hotel on Selegei Road, and I was a bit unsure about it. I found the hotel to be clean, safe and comfortable. The front desk staff were courteous and very helpful. The room was perhaps a bit small and cramped as I had quite a bit of luggage- but it was very bright and clean. The Hotel is very close to Little India and Sim Lim Square where I needed to be, and close enough to other places I needed to visit in Singapore. I was happy with the Hotel overall.

Good hotel, very clean & comfortable room, safe. Good location- just close to Little India and Sim LIm Square which is where I wanted to be.

Romm was rather small & cramped, but very clean.

  • Shopping Tip : Very close to Little India and Sim Lim Square

It has very clean and comfortable rooms, even though they are all as small as most of hotels in Singapore. I stayed here for a good night. But the doors and walls cannot prevent the voice outside my room from being heard. I've heard the children cry and people talking during all night. However, every other equipment is okay.

clean, comfortable, and in a good location.

you can hear everything from outside clearly in your room.

  • Shopping Tip : It's near the city center and you can go to all the shopping malls by foot.

I visited Singapore for just a few days, and I stayed half of the time in Selegie hotel81.To be honest, I felt little lonely in there. I hope next time, I could feel more at home. Just like a dream, because as far as I am concerned, traveling is very important cause we'd love to.

I liked the bed of the hotel and the DVD.

I think the service of the hotel should be improved, coz I didn't feel welcomed there.

  • Hotel Feature Tip : Maybe everyone will have a nice day~
