Good point: There are many food shops that are available at night near this hotel so I had no problems to eat. More effort: For travelers who do not stay long term laundry service takes long time(three days), if this point changed I will be so glad.

I paid over 50USD per night at this hotel because of F1 race that was meaningless for us. It's a rip-off but the room was not up to that cost.Try to save more money to stay at a 5-star hotel in Singapore which is completely different.

Only the lobby looks nice! Room service is good though.

Staff are not very friendly. Aircon in the room is a little bad. Room not worth getting 2 stars. The bed moves if you move, kind of cheap bed.

Hotel81 Star is truly a value for your money. Geylang is a bit far from the center but you can access it easily through their MRT. You only stay here if youre on a budget otherwise stay somewhere else.

Although a little small, the place is bearable. The basic stuffs are there-- hot and cold shower, tv, blow dry etc. You really get what you pay for.

Its far from the MRT station. You have to walk a good 3 or 4 blocks, pass by the park, before you can even reach the Aljunied Station. The location itself is "vibrant" however if you plan to stay here, dont stay alone.

• Hotel Feature Tip : Always ask for the non-smoking room as there is no ventilation whatsoever in the room. The stinky smell of cigarettes stays in the room for a long long time, there is just no room to breathe.

Basically it is value for money for singles or couples. The essentials are all there. Air-conditioning, good bed, great shower, TV programs are reasonably interesting enough, basic wardrobe, and a dressing table. Adding coffee and Milo satchels is thoughtful and also a cup of instant mee. Only one, what about another cup for my partner? Singapore being a law-abiding place, this place is value for money.

Budget price, reasonable room with TV programs viewable. Even have coffee, Milo stachels and a cup of instant mee! Reasonable service from hotel staff. Near the MRT station and eateries a plenty. Showers great! At 7th floor, noise is a minimal.

TV Remote control was not working, a bit of a hassle getting up to change channels.

The hotel is strategically located near the areas where I need to go. The Price is reasonable and provide good service. The reception is courteous and always willing to help. I complained my room airconditioning on my first night and they immediately transferred me on another room. Lots of hawkers and convenience stores in the area.

It was my first time to stay at Hotel 81 and it became my unforgettable budget hotel. Hotel location is easy to access to Aljunied-EW9 (East West Line) I could save money on taxi fee by travelling with MRT and walk to/from the hotel. Hotel's staff is friendly and helpful. Room was clean and well made up. Bathroom's facilities are in good condition and beyond expectation. However hotel area is in red light spot so may not be suitable for the couples but good for backpackers. It's worth in every cent of your money!

Easy access to MRT, bus stop, food centers and nightlife entertainment points.

Can not check-in early without extra cost even if the rooms are available.

• Hotel Feature Tip : If you are arrived hotel before 12.00 hrs, you can leave your bags at the reception area and also the same when you have to check out but your have the late flight. I collected my bags at 20.00 hrs and the staff was still happy to serve me. Hotel location is near MRT-Aljunied-EW9 (East West Line) I can walk from MRT station to the hotel. It's about 10 minutes away.

Hotel Star in Geylang Review Guest Rating: 3.2

Star Hotel 81 is well located in Geylang. It's better to get off at Aljunied subway station than Kallang. Also, you can eat and drink all night long in this area, which is quite convenient.

• Restaurant Tip : Try Geylang Road for food court. Some of them are really good and cheap.

This is a great place to stay if you want great prices. The hotel is located in a shady area, and if you plan to spend a lot of time touring around, this is perfect for you. The night life directly outside the hotel doesn't end until dawn, and it was a bit noisy at times.

• Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Make sure you visit the zoo and night safari! They are amazing! Also- be sure to check out the food vendors outside of Aljuied MRT station for affordable and delcious meals!
