This budget hotel provides 215 comfortable rooms and is ideally located among Singapore’s most significant landmarks. Located on the city’s museum belt, The Hotel 81 Bencoolen is between a 5-10 minute walk to the National Museum, the National art Museum, and the Esplenade. Guests are also within walking distance of the shopping hub of Orchard Road, as well as Bugis Junction and Marina Square. It is also close to Dhoby Ghaut MRT, which is the biggest MRT station in Singapore. There are many food courts and inexpensive dining options surrounding the building, which is one of the many reasons the area is popular with the backpacking community.

just over 5 mins walk from MRT station.
The room seemed quite cheap compared to others I'd seen on this website, which is why I chose it, as well as being close to a MRT station. The room was clean but it did smell of smoke. Only 2 smallish towels were provided for bathing and no hand towels. There was a hair dryer and tea making facilites. If you are in Singapore to see the sights and only need your room for keeping your luggage in and sleeping, then this is fine. If you want luxury, chose somewhere else (and pay a lot more!)
Nightlife Tip : Didn't realise until I was leaving in a taxi, but it was in walking distance of Chymes and not too far from Raffles!

The hotel is located in a great location. There are lots of food shops, restaurants and shopping area nearby. There's a museum nearby and the area is nice to walk around. The price is very reasonable and the room is clean. Very worth the money and very convenient to get around.
