The room rate is reasonable and I have stayed previously on other occasions. The room is warmly lighted up and the bed is comfortable and makes one feel at "home". The hotel is located in a safe area where one can walk at night without any fear of being accosted by "bad hats". The staff are courteous, friendly and efficient in performing their responsibilities.
Shopping Tip : The shopping malls are located within walking distances selling a great variety of goods to meet the needs of travellers.

The hotel is located centrally between all the major junction points. Too many hawkers hanging around the premises The Hotel is centrally well placed for access to all the major junction points.
However the staff were in different and unwelcoming
The rooms were typical of hotels in Singapore of that price range, basic,sparse,utilitarian, although the service was reliable.

Location is great. It's located next to a 24hr. food center. Free internet lan access. Small elevator. Stuffy odor. Overall, Hotel81 is acceptable for its price. However, the location is great. It's a walking distant away from many shopping locations. I especially like the 24hr. food center. There's a bus stop right accross the street which makes travelling very convienient. The room is acceptable; however, the air is not fresh and you can not open the window. For the price, Hotel81 is satisfactory.

Hotel-81 Becoolen is a convenience place to stay because we can easily take Bus and MRT just walking a few minute.Beside there got a lot convenience shop and interest place for us to go. 2.Good Services
The overall service are good and the receptionist also willing to help us when we requesting something.

We are satisfy with the room cleanest.
4. Security
The security of the Hotel is good cause we dint lost anything in our room when we go out from Hotel. Maybe hotel could consider to provide a free shuttle bus for tourist to go around.

Near orchard, affordable, accessible to food and supermarket Our stay here is quite okay. Walking distance to Orchard Road, about 10 minutes. Mrt is also accesible, around 5 minutes walk. There is also a 24 food court and 7 11 outlet shop just opposite of the hotel. The rooms are somewhat clean. The only downside of the hotel is its small room and small toilet. You would have a hard time if you are 6 feet tall. Receptionist are also very accomodating.

Hotel cleanliness, Room equipment. If you're only looking for a place to sleep in the city centre, than this hotel might be a right choice. The location in near Orchard area (Dhoby Gaut MRT station). However, the room equipment is old and the room condition is not clean at all. Hotel bed and bathroom are dirty. Television located in the left side of the bed, and it is very small TV.
Restaurant Tip : There is 24 hours kopi tiam just across this hotel.

closely to most visit places sort of shopping center (orchard, Bugis junction, etc) Need some renovation and / or re arrange of lobby, guest room, etc. Due to there are no changing from 2006 till 2009. Acceptable hotel price, with that facilities, very close to shopping places in Singapore. Easy to get food and just besides the mosque.

Dhoby Ghuat MRT Station is only about 5 minutes away on foot from the hotel, near restourant and near to Singapore's top museums, art galleries and historical sites. i cant find a dust bin in the front office room and in front of the hotel. i like this hotel, couse its location and its price. The room is clean and comfortable. I recomended this hotel for family

Easy to book via agoda, good help of hotel staff, many room choices. air con infront of lift drop water. I stay at hotel 81 Bencoolen with my big family. So I need 5 standard rooms for it. First come, the hotel staff was very helpfull. I just presented hotel voucher from agoda, then we can enter the rooms directly. After that I can go around Singapore via Dhobby Ghaut MRT that just 10 minutes walk. Never worry about food because kopitiam and 7 eleven infront of hotel. This hotel is convinient for family holiday at Singapore.
Restaurant Tip : Easy for getting food. Kopitiam, 7 eleven just in front of the hotel, 3 minutes walk.

Looks like security is not too good Hotel 81 Bencoolen is one of several budget hotels at the South End of Bencoolen Street, and it is one of the easiest to book over the internet. The area is well-served by taxis, there are two food courts just opposite, and a new MRT station will be opening shortly. At the moment, Bugis and Dhoby Gout stations are more or less equidistant, I think, in opposite directions.
Nightlife Tip : The two food courts opposite serve beer at cheap prices until the small hours, and grat spots for people-watching...

good location, clean, friendly staff I found the location to be ideal--with plenty of food and shopping options nearby. Transportation is easy and accessible from the hotel. The staff there were helpful, friendly and accommodating. They gave directions, suggestions and advice. Hotel rooms were clean and toiletries and amenities were provided. Overall a pleasant stay.

Perfect location. Excellent services and friendly. Cleanliness could be further improved. The washroom still has a lot of female hairs left behind, not cleaned properly. The air-conditioner is also very noisy. My booking experience with Agoda was a long and draggy one. I spent >24 hours, much of it in waiting for responses, from Agoda. I believe this is the worst part of the whole process. Hotel 81 Bencoolen turnt out to be a better place than I expected, with very ideal location, convenience and excellent people who's given me very excellent service and impression. Makes me love singapore with their professionalism. The room condition was decent, though cleanliness and noisiness are 2 major problems. All in all, I enjoyed my stay with the hotel and are disappointed with the booking process.
Hotel Feature Tip : Go to Dhobi Ghaut station. It's only a 7-min walk.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is clean and blanklet is very comfortable. Location is good. The room is small. Extra bed isn't comfortable. No cotton bud. It is near MRT Dhauby Gaut station more than bugis station. Kopitium is right across the hotel. Convenient to find food at night because food court which is across the hotel opens 24 hrs.
Travel tip : It is near MRT Dhauby Gaut. Not hard to find. Only 1 free drinking water for each room.

We arrived very late at the hotel but the check in procedure was not too long for us after a long journey from KL, that's very good. Though, the staffs are not that friendly since they all are not trying to smile at the guests. The room that we have been given is not so nice since it has got the terrible smell when we opened the door and also it's got very bad smell in the fridge like no one has never used it before, moreover, it's some dirty spot looks like a blood on the sheetspread, that's very awful. Anyway, all over it's an acceptable hotel for us since it's afforadble hotel in the center of the city, walkable to all tourist attractions. We would recommend this hotel for whom it may travel to Singapore for a fews day.

- 7-11 shop right across the street - the published rate is better than the price I paid for at agoda very basic, dont expect any luxury from a hotel 81 chain. the bencoolen 81 is good for its location, fairly reachable (take train from airport to dhobby ghaut/sommerset/orchard) then take bus that passes through SMU. and it's also good for not being in the red-light district (although I did bump into couples who look like there only for a few hours). building quality is quite poor - noisy at night.
