The hotel very near to MRT and also it located at the center of town. For muslims, there are plenty of halal restaurant nearby.

None

Hotel81 Beecoolen can consider as a good budget hotel to stay for short period visitors which provide good service to the customer. The staffs also friendly and helpful. It located near to MRT and easy for the first timer like me to visit Singapore. It located at the center of Singapore. I recommend other visitor to stay at this hotel. I will stay here again if I visit Singapore again

Restaurant Tip : Easy to get muslim food with no worry at all.

Location is good and price reasonable.

Room a bit small.

During my recent trip, I stayed at two different Hotels but Hotel 81 Bencoolen was quite clean and the better one. Moving around was quite easy as many places within walking distance. A few good eating places nearby. The staff were quite helpful. The only negatitive point is the small room but its OK for short stay.

Reasonable price. Close to MRT.

Noisy at night. Only 1 pack of coffee.

Initially chose hotel because of cost and closeness to MRT. I was travelling on my own and caught the MRT from Changi to Dhoby Ghaut and then walked about 10 minutes to the hotel. Would not be a good hotel for a family holiday but was fine for me. A slow gets you to the far west end of Orchard Rd so you will walk the full length of Orchard Rd without too much trouble. Major issue would be the amount of noise at night in the hall ways due to the use of slate on the floors amplifiying all noise, I always pack ear plugs so they came in very handy!

Travel tip : Located close to MRT (10 min walk)about S$2.00 by MRT or S$25.00 by taxi.

Great location. Centrally located near two MRTs (Bras Basah and Bugis). Close to Orchard, Little India and Chinatown. Safe to walk around at night, with plenty of choices for midnight snacks. The room is okay, big enough with good hot bath. That's really all we need actually.

Hotel staff are not very friendly and accommodating. Heard from a taxi driver that this Hotel 81 is not a redlight district, so should be a good location for families. If eventually it turns out to be another hub of prostitution center maybe we'll avoid it next time.

All in all I like it. It's good worth for money. All we needed in a budget hotel is a place to stay, relatively decent privacy, hot bath and a soft bed. This hotel fits the bill. Though I've read other reviews that you can hear sounds from the next door, we couldn't hear anything from our room. However, along the walkway, we could hear TV sounds from inside the room, but that's all. Seems pretty good!

location, food across the road, great staff welcoming and friendly.

Appears to be some kind of dodgy bar next door.

This hotel was good budget accommodation close to many malls and about 10min walk to dhoby gout station (a main train station). The room is very basic, very small but tidy with all essential needs; tv, dresser with mirror, bathroom, wardrobe. The only negative thing about this hotel is the bar next door.

Good location. Neat and clean.

The room is too small. There is no place to hang my clothes washed.

Do: The hotel location is very good. Although it is close to the Orchard Road, it's still quiet for good rest. The room is very neat and clean. Don't: The room is too small. The clothes racks are fixed in chifforobe. There is no place to hang my clothes washed. It's the typical budget hotel, which fits for the short-term stay travellers.

Shopping Tip : Close to Orchard Road, Hotel 81 Bencoolen is suitable for the short-term stay travellers to go shopping.

Good location and cheap

Very small rooms

The hotel is in a good location .Close to many places to eat cheaply . Central and easy to get to other areas around Singapore . The hotel is old and tired ,rooms smell of cigeratte smoke . Noise in the corridors reverbrates into the room . reception staff not particulary helpful ,they look totally disinterested .

Well located, right in the center

Awfully dirty (the floor hadn't been swept for weeks, the bathroom was disgusting and still had hair everywhere, the table desk was full of sticky coffee and tea stains, sheets had blood stains, the room had a cigarette smell, etc...), hotel was noisy and is right in red light district this is not acceptable as we were staying with children. You can here people screaming in the rooms, etc. Breakfast is just awfull in an awfull black room. The front desk just refused speaking about our claims.

We were amazed to find such a dirty place in Singapore as Singapore always claims to be a safe and clean place in Asia. I had lived 2 years in Singapore before and couldn't imagine such a dirty place existed. I have lived in Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia and never saw such a dirty place elsewhere in Asia ! Incredible !...

Shopping Tip : Don't go there with children !!!

Hotel room was clean. Reasonably priced. Fairly good location.

Room was very small. Lift was a bit slow during busy times.

This hotel was clean but room was very small. If you want a cheap hotel with no frills then this hotel is suitable. Hotel staff very friendly. Would stay here again.

Shopping Tip : About a 15 minute walk to Sim lim and Bugis Junction and MRT station. Great Thai restaurant nearby.

The hotel location is great. It is just a few minutes away from major museums and malls. There is also a diverse range of restaurants or coffee shops nearby. There is a 7/11 across the street. There wasn't much noise in my floor.

The hotel room was very small. The towels provided were frayed. The wooden floor needed to be polished as it was a bit sticky. Also, the elevator was small and was quite busy so we had to wait long a few times.

Good location.

Very small and poor service.

This is a typical budget hotel. The rooms are very small and not much walking space. The tv is so near the bed and in very funny area. The towels in the rooms are not really clean....my partner got skin rashes after using them. the service staff especially the room service is very unhappy and rude. Not much facility in the hotel. the only thing good about this hotel is the location. it is very near food places and shopping area and mrt stations.

Clean.

No bath tub shower only, not good for Japanese in general.

price-wise, I believe it is reasonable and proper for business use in Singapore. Location is very good for SunTech exhibition participants as it is within walking distance. Internet access charge for S$20 per day is acceptable for business man.

clean and safe, central location

no on-site restaurant, staff ok, no room safe

The hotel is very clean and spacious room for the price and is centrally located in Singapore. A short walk to Orchard rd for shopping or the Bugis market. A quick cab ride will get you too the sights of selosa beach and the singapore flyer as well as night life. The surrounding area is very safe as I could sit out at 2am and have a drink at a sidewalk cafe and not have any problems at all.

Restaurant Tip : lots of places to eat a short walk from the hotel in any direction.

Hotel is clean and near to all places you intend to visit. transportation is very convenient. Lots of cab will be waiting outside the hotel especially at night. Staff are friendly.

If the day is hot, then you will find it tiring walking to Bugis Junction or the Bugis mrt exit. The hotel should provide free wifi.

The housekeeper will clean the room daily but don't mope the floor unless you ask! As such, the room floor would be quite dusty. I asked once, but the next day the housekeeper still didn't mope the floor, sigh! Nevertheless, you still can consider to stay here. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are internet cafe nearby, so you can go there to send emails or pictures back to your country. The charge of using the internet service in the hotel is just too expensive.

Shopping Tip : Within walking distances, you can see OG, Bencoolen Square, Sim lim Square, Burlington Square etc etc. You can go there and shop.
