location strategic-convenient, near to eating plcs, shopping plcs, bus stop, reasonably clean Quite satisfied with my stay @ this hotel. Family friendly. Distance from shopping places, eating places not far-within five to 20 minutes. But i was given smoking area room even though i requested for non-smoking room.
Restaurant Tip : Opposite the road...plenty of food..

The hotel near Bugis Street, Bugis Junction and of course food stalls. The hotel is small and no refrigerator. My trip with my wife is quite awesome. First of all we never stay in Hotel81 Bencoolen. We knew it from hotel searching from internet. The hotel is quite cheap and is situated in a strategic place. We only walk to Orchard, Bugis and Bus Stop. I recommend this hotel for couple or solo traveler, not for family traveler. Because the room is so small.
Restaurant Tip : There are two food stalls across the hotel. And open until late evening.

Best location in the center, near great 24 hour food court kopitiam,
Near MRT (underground), cheap compared to other hotel in the same location,
Easy to catch taxis Noises during night.
Housekeeping sometimes forget to do their job.
Internet is not free. I travelled many times to Singapore and stayed in several hotels. Hotel 81 in Bencoolen is a good deal for some reasons: reasonable price, good location. Every shopping malls are nearby like Bugis, Raffles City, Singapura or Cathay building with great shops and great sales.

Breakfast need to be improved. This hotel is located in good location which has lots of restaurants, shopping complex, market, temple etc nearby. It has good connectivity by road but metro train station, Dhobi Ghat is 15 mins by walk. Hotel has maintained cleanliness. They need to improve the quality of breakfast. TV channels are limited; they need to provide more channels for entertainment.

Well located and good for getting around in Singapore - 5 mins walk to MRT

Cheap prices Small room, old furnitures. Not too tidy at all.
Staff at the reception unfriendly The hotel is quite okay for a few nights and if you only stay there for sleeping basicly. It is not very clean and the rooms are very small, not providing any luxury except for the air con. The staff in the reception wasn't too communicative and we didn't find them friendly at all. The most positive aspect may be the good and central location.

I love the standard room. quite big for one or to person. i stayed at this hotel for 3 times already. i stayed in the deluxe room before and i was happy about it. The workers are nice and generous too, very warm.
The location is very very convenience too. closer to bugis, orchard road, funan, dhoby ghaut MRT, plaza singapura among other things.
the point is, its a very very convenience hotel to stay either for business or leisure. the standard room for singles does not have any refrigerator.You must provide that too because we need that. Hotel 81 Bencoolen, so far, is the most convenience budget hotel compare to other budget hotels in Singapore. The price is reasonable too. Its location is very strategic and convenience. some of the shopping centers are just in a walking distance with lots of sightseeing along the way which means you don't have to waste or spend more money on transportation. There are lots of restaurant around that area as well and make it easy for you too if you ever craving for something.

The hotel very near to MRT and also it located at the center of town. For muslims, there are plenty of halal restaurant nearby. Hotel81 Beecoolen can consider as a good budget hotel to stay for short period visitors which provide good service to the customer. The staffs also friendly and helpful. It located near to MRT and easy for the first timer like me to visit Singapore. It located at the center of Singapore. I recommend other visitor to stay at this hotel. I will stay here again if I visit Singapore again
Restaurant Tip : Easy to get muslim food with no worry at all.

Location is good and price reasonable. During my recent trip, I stayed at two different Hotels but Hotel 81 Bencoolen was quite clean and the better one. Moving around was quite easy as many places within walking distance. A few good eating places nearby. The staff were quite helpful. The only negatitive point is the small room but its OK for short stay.

Reasonable price.
Close to MRT. Noisy at night.
Only 1 pack of coffee. Initially chose hotel because of cost and closeness to MRT. I was travelling on my own and caught the MRT from Changi to Dhoby Ghaut and then walked about 10 minutes to the hotel. Would not be a good hotel for a family holiday but was fine for me. A slow gets you to the far west end of Orchard Rd so you will walk the full length of Orchard Rd without too much trouble. Major issue would be the amount of noise at night in the hall ways due to the use of slate on the floors amplifiying all noise, I always pack ear plugs so they came in very handy!
Travel tip : Located close to MRT (10 min walk)about S$2.00 by MRT or S$25.00 by taxi.

Great location. Centrally located near two MRTs (Bras Basah and Bugis). Close to Orchard, Little India and Chinatown. Safe to walk around at night, with plenty of choices for midnight snacks.
The room is okay, big enough with good hot bath. That's really all we need actually. Hotel staff are not very friendly and accommodating.
Heard from a taxi driver that this Hotel 81 is not a redlight district, so should be a good location for families. If eventually it turns out to be another hub of prostitution center maybe we'll avoid it next time. All in all I like it. It's good worth for money. All we needed in a budget hotel is a place to stay, relatively decent privacy, hot bath and a soft bed. This hotel fits the bill.
Though I've read other reviews that you can hear sounds from the next door, we couldn't hear anything from our room. However, along the walkway, we could hear TV sounds from inside the room, but that's all. Seems pretty good!
