even nicer experience this time. the service has improved slighty. flexibility and understanding from staff when it comes to checking out. hmmm just abit small... but thats not really a cons for me... this is my second time in the hotel and i must say it is an even better experience. the staff that last time got cranky at us turn out to be pregnant which explain her behaviour last time... lol...

Friendly staff, good location, clean rooms, changed daily,HBO a big plus, and a great price. the bed was great, very comfortable. during my visit the internet didnt work, no food on the premises The hotel was surprising, my first time to stay in Hotel 81 my choice Örchid". The Hotel 81 staff were very helpful, they allowed me to change rooms as I upgraded my room for more space. Some rooms were smokey but I was able to find a clean non smoking room with little effort. The a/c's are good and you can control the temperature very easy so there is no need to freeze in your bed. Geylang was described as being in a redlight district, but I didnt find that as a reason to stay awayfrom this area, it wasnt as bad as described to me, and I wouldnt suggest you not to come here as its interesting to watch from the sidelines, but nothing is compulsary. I am not interested in that side of life. There are many great choices for eating just outside the hotel, and if you are needing some junk food there is a 7 eleven shop in the local garage just one block away. Just think on the local bus its $1 and you are in Bugis where there's a lot of shopping a little cheaper than orchard road. When I was there Singapore was on sale, it was a great time.
Restaurant Tip : many choices where to eat within a short walk of say 5 minutes you are there, and then can choose left or right to continue to view the menue's, they continue down the road in both directions.

it's located on geylang street, which many cafe there, also near from Mosque, 1 min walk to the bus stop, or about 3 min to the other side bus stop.
get free mineral water, internet access free. the room is very small, also the bathroom. i read from the hotel 81 website, its located near aljunied MRt station, so i take a walk to go this hotel, with a large baggage, i'm a traveler, i don't want to waste money just to take a taxi. but, it's very bad, the location is far from alljunied, i think it's near Kallang MRT station. it's quite cheap.

I like 81 hotel orchid..because have a nice staff,cheap. good location, near to bus staion going to Bugis and everything you want. Overall experience of this hotel is wonderful. The room is clean and there are cable television available as well. My partner and I had a great day of relaxation at this hotel and local delicacies is just around the corner. We will gladly reside at this hotel again should we visit the area again.

Affordable Price, Clean Rooms, Friendly Staff. Situated in Red Light District. This is one of our countless return trips to this hotel and i believe this shows the quality of their service. Staff never fails to cater and entertain whatever request you might have, as long as they can fulfill. I will definitely return to this hotel again with my partner should we have the chance again.

FREE HBO channel. What you pay is what you get. Hotel located near food store and mini-restaurant. Noise when someone close the door in the hall way. Hotel located in the RED light district. Those who travel with family I recommend stay somewhere else.

convenient for food, clean and compact, cosy, helpful staffs. a little far off from the MRT. surroundings not so friendly as its a red light area. pleasant stay with clean and compact rooms. better for adults or couples rather than families as the it is located in a red light area. small but complete bathrooms with excellent shower. staffs were courteous and helpful. many eating spots around the hotel but people working there are not so friendly.

Reception is friendly and willing to cater to whatever preference i have on the hotel rooms. Location is also pretty near to amenities and city is just a short bus ride away from this hotel. Near to red light district - tourists with children might want to take note. Overall experience of this hotel is wonderful. The room is clean and there are cable television available as well. Internet access is also available at a cheap rate of S$10 per day and bandwidth of the internet is pretty fast too. My partner and I had a great day of relaxation at this hotel and local delicacies is just around the corner. We will gladly reside at this hotel again should we visit the area again.

The staff is very friendly. They already known that our english do not very well so they speak slowly and clearly. Hotel smells tobacco a little. The situation of the hotel is very convienent to take bus, underground. Especially we can go eating easily and lots of chinese food courts are near the hotel about five minutes walk. Fruits can be found in large of types and quantities. All most of asian fruits here are sold at reasonable price.

if you are group of girls or family with kids, i think the area at night is not the best place for them.
for food wise, alot of options around the area. but if you dont know where to start trying, thenp stick to places which have alot of people eating there.
the staff at the front desk need to be more friendly. because not all customer there is staying there for hourly rate, or for 'fun'. i stayed there for genuine holiday and booked for a week and i think the hospitality need to be improved. altho i cannot expect much from a cheap hotel, located in red district area of singapore.

Good to stay in a unusual location which is still close to the city centre. Lots of great places to eat just around the corner which are very cheap. Hotel staff friendly, overall clean room and good value for money. Room was small but ok for us (couple), location is in red light district but this did not effect us in anyway. Bathroom very small. Hotel 81 are a good choice for budget accommodation, location was good, MRT station is around 10 minutes walk. Staff are friendly and provided us with an umbrella when it was raining. There are lots of local places to eat around the area, which provide great food at a low price. Be aware that this is a red light district so may not be suitable for a family, we as a couple found it to be no problem.
Restaurant Tip : Great places to eat at the top of the road, two Chang beers for $9.

Small and yuite used room The hotel was clean. My room was on a higher floor which is used for longtime guests. The hotel was not very busy during my stay. The staff was very helpfull. No breakfast served. No restaurant, no pool, no bar ... Overall a satisfied stay since I was busy for sightseeing most of the time. Just a hotel to sleep. The area is very safe but not suitable for familys.

Redlight district.
Clean but small rooms.
Wake up call was on time but the hotel was further.
from the airport than I thought it would be
The bathroom was the smallest bathroom I have ever used.
No cupboard space.
Nightlife Tip : You will spend an extra 25 dollars per night to find a normal bar.

Well located. Local markets and food shops closeby. Easy to get taxi all around time. Metro train about ten minutes walk. Cheaper but alive area. Not suitbale with children as hookers although well behaved hangs around till very early morning. Rooms area reasonably sized and clean. Not a bad value for money. Several other same priced hotels around. It is an OK hotel with this price. Some may not like ladies hanging outside. Staff was polite and room was clean and serviced every day. Changi airport about $18 local. Shuttle from airport costs $9 local each person. AC was working fine. No food/ dining.
