The Hotel81-Princess is a true value for money hotel located very near the Kallang station in Geylang. Regular buses directly connect the hotel to all major areas of Singapore, including Orchard Road and the Serangoon area. The hotel is ideal for tourists thanks to the easy access to banks, stores, pubs and small restaurants. Rooms are modestly furnished and functional rather than lavish, and are extremely comfortable and clean. Nearby Geylang Road and Sims Avenue are recommended for local dining and the beef noodle and soya bean dishes are amongst the best in town.

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Service is better than the last time I was there.
Nothing really. Its a budget hotel. It may however not be suitable for families with young children given its location in the red light area.
I have stayed at this hotel on a few occasions before where I paid $30-40 more until I found Agoda's website. The hotel is about a 10min walk from the nearest MRT (if you don' mind the walk). If your feeling the hunger pangs in the middle of the night, no need to fret, cheap food is everywhere. Of course its in the red light area but I knew that before making my booking.

It was conveniently located at the heart of Singapore's most exciting places, buses were just a few steps away that can take you anywhere.
The staff were friendly and always ready to assist.
I saw one small cockroach in the room- but it was just a baby.
If you want your money's worth while touring Singapore, stay at Hotel 81. They also have branches in different parts of the City so you can choose wherever you are most convenient.
While this hotel is not for those who would like to spend most of their travel time watching TV in the hotel- it is the most convenient place for those who come to Singapore to just see the sights and shop.
One most important plus factor in this hotel is the security and the friendly staff with whom you can safely deposit bulky and valuable items.
Food is available 24 hours daily just outside the hotel and the choices are varied from local to traditional and chinese food.
Restaurant Tip : Try Monkok- a chinese fast food joint- the Dimsum is great!

Friendly staff, location, value
With hotel rates in Singapore quite high, this hotel was good value. While the room was clean, I did notice roaches. The area is a red light district. There are many 24 hour cheap eateries. A good way to experience the local Singapore.
