The hotel check in was fast and convenient. The staff was friendly. Except for a few cons, it was just an average hotel but still something you can't expect in other budget hotels. The aircondition system was okay. The tv was a little small. And the toilet door was giving some problems as it was hard to slide open and close. Heater works perfectly.

very good value for money, clean bug free rooms, professional polite staff, close to Al Juniad MRT stop and airport. not a good place for a family to stay, especially a daughter. Cable tv limited channels and small screens The price per night is surprisingly low and very good value for Singapore. While not in the city center, the Al Juniad MRT stop is 5 minutes walk and if you buy a pass card, it is very inexpensive to use Singapore's MRT system which is fast, clean and goes everywhere, about 10 minutes to Orchard Road for instance. The rooms are small but fine, clean and bug free. Despite being in the absolute center of the Geylang Red Light District, the hotel is not especially rowdy or noisy and the staff is well-presented and professional. There are many 24 hour open air restaurants around and the food is pretty good despite being very cheap (2 Sing Dollars for a good meal!)
If you return to the hotel at night, it is definitely "picturesque" as the streets are full of every nationality from around Asia. Not a good place to stay with your family. But not particularly dangerous and many police around keeping anything from getting out of hand.
Restaurant Tip : lots of very inexpensive 24 hour open air restaurants around

Clean rooms, friendly staff, good price through agoda.com The staff were nice & friendly. the room was clean and has hot water & cable tv. For the price I think it is pretty good & I will stay there again thru agoda
Restaurant Tip : There are many food shops in the area, one in particular sells excellent Tandori Chicken

At night, the place is full of men. All in all, to sum up my whole stay, the hotel reception people were very helpful. It was raining when I was going out and they loaned me an umbrella. They gave a little map that could be fitted into your pocket so I will not get lost walking to the MRT station. Before staying at this hotel, I read a lot of nasty reviews but when I stayed there, I was really pleasantly surprised!
Travel tip : If you are a lady please be careful because there are a lot of funny people around at night especially.. Try to get back to the hotel by 7-8pm.

The hotel is clean and even our room. The staffs are accomodating and attentive to our needs. The location is accessible and easy to find. The hotel is within the red light distrcit. Me and my partner had a wonderful holiday. We located the hotel quite easy and they entertained us immediately when we got there. Our requests were granted and it made us happy. We are satisfied with the entire stay in this hotel. It's near to the shopping district, airport, clubs and night out places. If we'll go back to SG, definitely we will stay here again.
Shopping Tip : Bugis is place to shop with a great finds.

The hotel was clean, usually quiet, staff was always helpful. Rooms were a little small, could have used a couple of chairs in the room. If you are looking for a place away from the skyscrapers and toursit this is the place. You will get to see the real Singapore, red light district, local food and average peoople. The staff were great and always ready to assist you with any questions or needs. Thank you for everything.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : An MRT station was a 10 minute walk south of the hotel.

Hotel 81 star is very accessible to mrt the location itself is a red light district but you won't feel on the daytime unless u check in around 6pm the lights are busy!!1 Hotel 81 star had been the most affordable hotel that I have searched in the internet. At first I was hesitant to book considering the price and the location. But it takes for u to experience and judge accordingly; based on our 6 days and 5 nights stay, the staff had been very accommodating and make it sure to maintain the cleanliness of the room. They daily refill, bottled water, coffee and even tootbrush and comb as your personal hygiene. Water boiler is provided per room so u can boil water anytime. I also requested an iron and they immediately sent an iron with the board well, that made me impressed at least they didn't charged it.
The size of the room is good enough for a couple and the amenities such as the television, telephone and aircon are fine. The lobby is clean and presentable. They always have sweets to offer.
Well, in terms of location, its close to mrt around 10 to 15 minute walk but the location itself is also a red light district...but nothing tto worry people are calm and harmless.. In the morning you won't feel much of its monkey bbusiness thing just dont let be out before the ssun down... overall I was satisfied and will come back again!

Poor AC, very small rooms, no fridge & last but not least no free wireless The stay was OK, but what wew disliked was the Air con.....we simnply do not understand why they do not look into this as it was very hot weather. They could also provide fridge. And last but not the least, no restaurant in the hotel but this never seems to be a prob as there are numerous eateries around.

The hotel is located in a good location, near the MRT station, however, in a relatively crowed neiborhood. The staff there is good, but the condition of hotel is poor. I think all they have to do is invesy a little more to repaint walls, and switch some new towels, sheets, would be much better.

It was easy to get to and we had only one night there. The front of the Hotel is great but inside lets it down needs a good revamp. The room was small it is n the red light district I knew that. The bathroom was small and old.The staff; it seemed a shame to disturb their TV show.
