Hotel Grand Central, Singapore

If you need a decent and reasonable hotel accomodation right inside orchard road, this is the hotel to stay.

Hotel is in very good location if you looking for convinience area...near to MRT as well as alot of shopping mall surrounding compair to the price quiet acceptable .But this breakfast it's ERRR!!!!!...really bad...i hope to see improvement for my next trip.

I was in Singapore for a flying visit therefore was not looking to spend for a room as it was only meant to be used for spending the night. After staying there I would have quite happily paid more for a better hotel. The lobby itself is small which doesn't give much of a first impression. Even the lobby rest rooms were not clean. The hotel looks to be quite old and it has a very unpleasant smell which also made its way into the room that I happened to stay in. The room was very basic with the basic amenities a guest requires. Kudos on the individual iron and ironing board! The bathtub was rusty and temperature control for the shower was not that brilliant. The airconditioner would not go below 21.9 degrees which is unpleasant if it's greater than 30 degrees outdoors. I assume they have tried to modernise the bedroom as there was a feature wall (splash of brown paint) and a flat screen tv so doesn't look like they'll be improving again anytime soon. The location however was probably it's best selling point. For the price you pay, it is a 2 minute walk from the main Orchard Rd. A bit further for the nearest MRT but it is Singapore so lots of walking is expected. Was checking out and was in a bit of a rush what with all the other people checking out and even with 3 people at reception, they still insisted you go to the lone cashier to check out. All in all you get what you pay for in Singapore standards. Not recommended unless you really can't spare and you'll be spending minimum time in the room. Unless the hotel does a complete makeover, I doubt that I'll be returning.
