The hotel location is good almost the end of Orchard road. Can walk to all the attraction on Orchard. Hwr,the renovation and the room is not new even some room after renovation. The breakfast is horrible, i don't take it even free. Reception service is not standard, lack of service mind. if needed for short business stay is fine.Look for similar class of hotel is recommeded as there are plenty if it is not during exhibition period.

great location. it is along orchard. staff are helpful and friendly. stay was ok. hotel was old. room has a good LCD TV. overall it was clean but generally old. the 1st room that was given to us was a family room but the airconditioning system was faulty so we had to move to another smaller but better room.
Shopping Tip : near orchard road, a major shopping strip of singapore.

Interior of room was excellent.
Behavior of staff was very co-operative.
Breakfast was good.
Room service was very good.
We like the stay of that hotel very much due to its excellent room service, fine location. Quick room service, very good maintainance, very cool and good staff behavior and very low room charges. The hotel provided us the local tour at very cheap rates and provided us very good tour.

Right at the heart of orchard road. Within walking distance to the subway stations as well as major departmental stores and shopping centres. If you need a decent and reasonable hotel accomodation right inside orchard road, this is the hotel to stay.
Shopping Tip : Just within walking distance to major orchard road shopping centres.

Hotel is in very good location if you looking for convinience area...near to MRT as well as alot of shopping mall surrounding compair to the price quiet acceptable .But this breakfast it's ERRR!!!!!...really bad...i hope to see improvement for my next trip.

Good price for its location on Orchard Rd Guest bathroom, guest bedroom, lobby...pretty much entire hotel should be revamped! I was in Singapore for a flying visit therefore was not looking to spend for a room as it was only meant to be used for spending the night. After staying there I would have quite happily paid more for a better hotel. The lobby itself is small which doesn't give much of a first impression. Even the lobby rest rooms were not clean. The hotel looks to be quite old and it has a very unpleasant smell which also made its way into the room that I happened to stay in. The room was very basic with the basic amenities a guest requires. Kudos on the individual iron and ironing board! The bathtub was rusty and temperature control for the shower was not that brilliant. The airconditioner would not go below 21.9 degrees which is unpleasant if it's greater than 30 degrees outdoors. I assume they have tried to modernise the bedroom as there was a feature wall (splash of brown paint) and a flat screen tv so doesn't look like they'll be improving again anytime soon. The location however was probably it's best selling point. For the price you pay, it is a 2 minute walk from the main Orchard Rd. A bit further for the nearest MRT but it is Singapore so lots of walking is expected. Was checking out and was in a bit of a rush what with all the other people checking out and even with 3 people at reception, they still insisted you go to the lone cashier to check out. All in all you get what you pay for in Singapore standards. Not recommended unless you really can't spare and you'll be spending minimum time in the room. Unless the hotel does a complete makeover, I doubt that I'll be returning.

A very strategic location hotel with plenty of shopping and entertainment with Orchard road to walk and shop all day and plenty of branded brands to buy and good discounts and bargain to see. Shop till you drop. Also with good spa facility, go karaoke if you want and relax for massage after long day shopping

What I liked the best about the hotel was its proximity to the shopping malls of Singapore. The rooms were decent size, with a TV and air-conditioning. . The bathrooms are not in great condition and need to be redone. The breakfast was not that great either. It is a good hotel, if you're not planning to spend too much time indoors, and are just looking for bed and bathroom and want to save money for other things. The staff is not very helpful, you need to figure things out on your own sometimes. And dont ever book a taxi from the hotel as you can get cheaper taxis outside if you enquire.

location, low price, spacious rooms breakfast buffet,smelly rooms, leaking faucets We actually had 2 bookings at the hotel one night pre cruise occupying 2 rooms and another 4 nights post cruise. The first night,our rooms were quite smelly when I specifically asked for a non smoking room. One of the rooms even had leaking faucet. After the cruise, we were given much better rooms. However, I found the hair dryer and tv remote in my room not working. I called the housekeeping dept to complain and the guy they sent didnt do anything to fix it. When I called again the next morning, he came and took the dryer away and never bothered to bring me any replacement until we left the hotel. Another complain I want to air is the breakfast buffet. I would appreciate if the hotel can provide variation in the food every morning and not serve the same food everyday.
Restaurant Tip : The food court across the hotel located at the basement of another hotel is very convenient, the priceis very reasonable and there are numerous food items to choose from.

I guess the best feature of the hotel is the location and the price. Among the hotels along the Orchard Road, it is the cheapest and most convenient. The housekeeping was not too efficient to address our complaints.
The buffet breakfast was the same every morning we don't look forward to it anymore. We stayed in the hotel twice in a week, before and after our asian cruise and my family booked 3 rooms. The first one night stay was rather uncomfortable. One of the rooms was smelly, the air condition was not cold enough and there was leak in one of the bathrooms.
The next 3 night stay was a lot better. The only problem I had was the hair dryer that was not functioning and the tv remote that was not also working. I called the housekeeping but he was not able to fix both. The next morning, I called the housekeeping again to complain about the dryer. The guy just took out the dryer and never came back with a dryer. I was hoping he would bring me a portable dryer instead but he did not until we checked out.
I would also like to comment about the buffet breakfast which was the same EVERYDAY!Can't they think of any other variety of breakfast food? When you see the same food over and over again, sometimes you don't feel like eating anymore. In fact, some members of my family chose to eat elsewhere.
Restaurant Tip : We found out that The Food Court right across Hotel Grand Central which was actually the basement of another hotel is quite big and serves all kinds of asian foods. We enjoyed having our meals there and the prices are reasonable!

The hotel was great near to shopping destination & MRT station. Aside from that it is convenient right in the heart of Orchard. The hotel food was not fit for all the guest. Most of the food served during breakfast buffet is spicy and same meal everyday. They should serve foods that can appeal to all nationalities..maybe an American breakfast will do so that hotel guests will have options. Hotel Grand Central is probably one of the best all time budget hotels that any visitor would like to stay. Since the locations is perfect for the shopaholics, food trips, MRT station & bus rides to the different theme parks. Best of all its a budget friendly fit for families who are on vacation & especially ladies who are shopaholic.
With its perfect location along Orchard road, it is definitely a hassle-free shopping & dining at the same time.

Great location, easy excess to most places. Very obliging staff, willing to hear your complains and rectify things to your satisfaction. Breakfast could be much more of a variety instead of the same things everyday. Cereal could be much more variety. Should have more non-smoking rooms as the smoking rooms reeks of smell. Some rooms need to be upgraded and renovated. I have enjoyed staying with Hotel Grand Central and would not hesitate staying there again. Best value for the location, great staff and service. I found easy excess to most places and big bonus, the MRT station is so handy which makes transportation such a great advantage. I was most impressed when after my initial complain that my room was smelly and I had asked for a non-smoking room, I was upgraded to a premium room immediately. Thanks

I personally think that Grand Central Hotel is affordable for everyone which incorporates free good breakfast with good good service. The location is within easy walking-distance for shooping thus it made my day. The hotel, on the other hand, has sometimes slow and ineffective customer service due to the high number of guest checking in-and-out, therefore good communication between us would improve your services. This is my very first time to come to Singapore for holiday and very lucky that beside paying online for the room I would also be receiving the 500 rewards point just by check-in this hotel for first time in my life. Due to many benefits I would now choose Singapore to be one of the most best places for holiday.

Facilities are all old, they need to be renewed. Especially, room at the corner (such as my reserved room number 702)had bad smell because of smoke of restaurant kitchen below. Hotel breakfast is terrible and very poor. However, hotel location is good, very close shopping center, opposite of food open-air-area.
