Overpriced lacking in quality. Guest Rating: 2.3

They need to up grade the hotel rooms, kind of run down and out of date. Halls were being repainted. Bathrooms were small, showers was not good. Service is very average and attitude of staff was not friendly. No clocks in rooms, would be helpful to til the time.

Good Food near by. Close to the shopping too.

Hotel is in the middle of renovations.

Accptable Hotel - Not Great Guest Rating: 2.5

This was an adequate hotel, but not a great value. The location is a short (5-10 min) walk to the Somerset MRT station providing easy access to the rest of the City. My room was clean, but the bathroom needs to be upgraded. A glaring problem was that the shower water was not easily adjusted and was either too cool or almost scalding. It made it difficult to get a decent shower. The rest of the bathroom was adequate. The breakfasts were adequate, but the quality was not as good as I expected. They were short on fruit and the scrambled eggs were runny. The internet access seemed to be overpriced, but I haven't had enough experience in hotels to really evaluate it except that it was more expensive than the prior hotels I stayed in. My satisfaction as expressed below is based on the staff and the location.

I booked this hotel at agoda.com the best online hotel booking site with 24hrs online chat support !! I read many negative reviews about the hotel and was very worried. This was the only budget hotel available at my booking dates. It took only 20min from airport to reach the hotel, we took taxi frm airport and they charged us just 19.60 SGD On arrival the check-in was "SUPER QUICK". The hotel looked cool .. from outside and the lobby was also very nice. Now I was worried about the room coz i read several negative reviews about the hotel. When i opened the room I was more than SURPRISED . It was very perfect ... Too good to be true for the price we paid. The room was very spacious, we booked tripple sharing room for 3 nights and 4 days it costed us 504 USD with breakfast. In bathroom there was hairdryer, bath tub (a little bit bad condition but was okay and clean to take bath). Toothbrushes with toothpaste, slippers, soap, shampoo and shower gel was included. The towels were clean. We stayed at 7th floor room no. 765. Electric kettle in the room was not working. Few drawbacks : Hotel do not provide water, they sell water and in rooms you have to pay for it if you want it. Please do remember that you have to deposit 50SGD in advance at the time of check-in for mini bar that is refundable at the time of check-out. You will love the location as the hotel is next to Orchard Plaza.. ALL OVER FANTASTIC STAY MORE THAN EXPECTED I LOVED IT ... THE HOTEL IS EXCELLENT BUDGET HOTEL. PLEASE DO NOT HESSITATE TO GO YOU WILL FIND IT VERY GOOD.

Just next to Orchard plaza, MRT station 8 min walking distance. Bus stand 2 min walking distance. Nice budget hotel !!

Good access for Shopping and Sightseeing Guest Rating: 3.0

This hotel locates in the best area for shopping. Room rate is very reasonable if you consider such a convenient location, though the hotel is a little old. You may walk to famous department stores and big shopping malls on Orchard road. Also it is less than 10 minutes to big subway station by foot to visit various sightseeing spots in Singapore. If you would like to book a hotel which has good access for shopping and sightseeing for reasonable price, this hotel is very recommendable.

Location is very good. Close to Orchard road but not noisy. There are some convenience stores, big shopping malls and department stores close to the hotel. Very convenient for shopping. Also good access to subway and bus stop, easy to get taxi. You may go to various sightseeing spots easily.

Hotel staffs were not really nice, unfortunately. They looked busy and not helpful much. They didn't take time for further service for us...

• Restaurant Tip : Good access to Ruffles Hotel by subway. They have very nice Afternoon Tea. The reservation is necessary by phone or e-mail.

Since the hotel is under renovation the true assessment is difficult but on the day there was alot of deficiency for a competitive market like singapore. It is in a nice location and places for shopping and eating, most suitable for unsuspecting tourist. Given the choice I will book into holiday Inn or Meridian next door

The pool was under renovations, should have warn the customers, star rating drops to two stars, the interior decor is old and needs a uplift. The breakfast was poor and unorganised

One of the better hotels in mid range. Great location and proximity to Orchard Road. The only draw back as the rooms are being renovated but saying that its convenient for transport to the zoo etc.
