Slightly set on its own in the middle of a park area, but still only 5 mins walk to the nearest MRT station, or 10 mins to the river & Boat Quay / across to Clark Quay
Very much styles around 1970s bright colours & kitsch. A lot of fun to stay in.
Surprisingly cheap unless it's taken over by a wedding party - I guess most business travellers don't want to stay somewhere lime green or candy pink.
I'll probably return next time I'm in SG

Budget hotel

It's a new hotel with small size room, like the Ibis hotel if you know what I mean. I liked the free internet and breakfast buffet, but that's all for this budget hotel. Smoking is strictly not allowed with heavy penalty, and the window is locked so forget about smoking in the rooom.

Great rate but poor location, dated property

This is well and truly a budget hotel so don't expect anything other than that - the location is not that convenient but they have a shuttle bus to the metro and since the hotel is located by itself up a drive it not that easy to get a taxi or walk down in the heat to hail one from the road. I found the buffet dreadful and poor value - a la carte ok and reasonable value. The hotel is used a lot by the shipping industry for their crew overnighting which gives the place rough atmosphere to it.
When I factor in the cost of food and taxi fare getting to the places I needed to go to I would have been better off with a more convenient hotel

It was a bit strange in theme to use neon pink as a predominant color for the interiors, and took quite getting used to, but over all, it was ok. The staff is also very helpful, and despite the fact that it is a bit hidden from the roadway, taxi access and availability is consistently easy. Even if they were having functions and there were a lot of guests, there was still ample parking space, and it was still convenient.

A Unique Hotel

my stay at the hotel re was better than expected. the hotel's theme is retro, which i thought was a little odd, but i found the retro theme fitting and well balanced. the staff were friendly and amiable. while i booked a room with no breakfast, the complimentary package of 2 cans of pepsi, 2 bottles of water, a pack of mixed nuts, oreo and prawn crackers, which was replenished daily was a good counterbalance. also, you could easily walk to or take the free shuttle to outram park station and get a chicken rice in a whole in wall/hawker type of shop about 50 paces from the bus stop/shuttle drop off. the room was neat and well kept, and the 24 hour complimentary wifi was useful (though it lagged a little bit at night). over all, i would more than likely choose to book in this hotel again if i have business in the vicinity.
