huge room
good service and huge room

i was arrived at night at the hotel, but un-fortunately the room was full,even we have booked from agoda.
but then they were transfer us to their other chain in queen area.
the other morning, we should back to origin in newton, it was quite tire!, since we should have business meeting.
but they paid us all the taxi go and back.
but overall, staying there is comfortable, all the staff was kind and the room is so huge.

Convenient Location

Stay at Hotel Royal was very nice, but unfortunately when I arrived on the first night at midnight, they said that my room had a water leak and that I had to be relocated to their sister hotel. It was 2 am before I got to bed exhausted,after travelling all day. Also I had booked Hotel Royal as the location was convenient to where I needed to go the next day, so the move to a hotel on the other side of town was not convenient. However on the positve side, the room that they gave me at the other hotel was very nice.

Dated, but clean rooms

the rooms are dated, but clean. movies cost about sg$18 and the internet is only a bit cheaper. not too many amenities, no exhaust fan within the toilet. the exterior looks a bit dodgy with all the neon signs advertising karaoke joints inside. but again, it's cheaper than other hotels in the vicinity. lots of tourists from mainland china stay here, which isn't always a good thing. the bellhops are helpful enough.
Shopping Tip:
It is within 7 minutes walking distance to the Novena MRT tunnel, though from the tunnel its another 5 minutes walk to the MRT entrance itself. Within earshot of the MRT tunnel is Union Square Shopping Center with a Starbucks and a 7-11 and multiple bars and restaurants nearby.

Good location
location near Novena train station, renovated rooms preferred

Room stay was good except that the bath tub was high to climb over and the shower was not strong.
No free internet which I thought was a given with modern needs.
Free parking is good.

The room was certainly one of the older, un-renovated rooms located (details of orientation in the building) which meant that we heard (details of what was so noisy) until all hours of the night including (more details of noise disturbance).
The room itself was also really quite dirty and seemed to have been perhaps unused for quite some time; there was a constant damp and mould like smell in the room that gave my wife a headache after the first night.
