Nice, safe, near the bus stop a little bit far from he MRT station, no new year celebration, no review or direction from hotel to public recreation or event of the month of singapore I like being in this hotel. I booked for 3 persons and they gave me family room (graded up) and no extra charges. They also gave us extra hotels kit for 3 persons and time for cleaning can be managed. The view isn't so crowded so we can spend quiet nights. The problem is this hotel a little bit far from he MRT station so we must walk tiredly after travelling all day. There also no new year celebration that can be enjoyed by all guests because there is no special celebration.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Add announcement about event of the month, so we (as a foreigners) can considered what events should we join with, plus how to get there by public transportations

Location, location, location noisy, some rooms very dirty, bed next to the telephone rather worn, special reuqests couldn't be fulfilled. This has been my 3rd stay at Hotel Royal. It's really hit and miss. The employees are really trying, but there doesn't seem to be much quality control, especially as far as cleanliness is concerned. Too bad!
The biggest disadvantage for me is the noise level. This time I had a "quiet" room (towards the back), so less noise from the street; however, you hear your neighbours and everybody on the corridor even better... :(
Still, probably ok for a 3 star...

near shopping centres, orchard road, MRT station, food courts and fast food centres did not get the booking request right the first time. not enough information in the rooms on the facilities of the hotel and the TV channels are all not properly tuned The hotel is near shopping centres, MRT station, food court and shopping centre (5 minute walk only. Quiet in the middle of the city. properly plan for singles and families. Food and Entertainment caters to both single travellers and families. Have lots of shops in the lobby itself.
Would be nicer is there is more information on the facilities of the hotel. Swimming pool is so so without any signage of no life guard on duty. Need to fog as there are mosquitoes around the pool area. Kill an aedes mosquito.
Food is nice but would be nicer is they mentioned that certain days have specialities rather than chef is not cooking a particular dish on the menu. This happened for both nights for certain dishes in the coffeehouse.
Shopping Tip : near 2 shopping centres, entertainment areas and 2 plazas (United Square and Novena) around. should go around an explore without the crowds found in Orchard Road

Location was excellent as close to Novena MRT.
The lady at check-in was very helpful.
Rooms are spacious. Small shopping malls nearby.

Overall, the hotel is good. Good service, the room is clean and comfortable. Sadly when I was there, there are bunch people running around at the alley and made some noise but it just happened a while so it was fine for me. I think i enjoy my holiday in Singapore, Thank you Agoda!

Very good location, bus stop to most areas right in front of hotel.
We were upgraded to a suite room which was huge, complete with dining table & living room area. We would recommend Royal Hotel to anyone who wants to be near to Orchard but not pay Orchard Road prices. Transportation was really convenient as the bus stop is located right in front of the hotel.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. Equipped with TV, mini fridge, kettle, hair dryer and mini-safe.
Though we did not try the food at the hotel, but there is an impressive Chinese restaurant which we would definitely try on our next visit.
We would stay at Royal Hotel on our next visits to Singapore.
Shopping Tip : There are buses which can go directly to Orcahrd Road, Raffles City, Vivocity, etc.

The Hotel 3 minutes walk to NOVENA MTR station and Novena Catholic Church. Being an older Hotel it is spacious but old and musky.With antiquated Chinese Style decor . The Hotel is located near the NOVENA MTR station and its a station away from the famed Newton Food center, where tourist gets overpriced food , although rather spacious it is old and musky, i give top marks for the staff at the Hotel who unlike other Hotels are sincere and friendly , Tops marks for the Porter and concierge ! who made our stay memorable.
Travel tip : Located on top of Velocity on top of the Novena MTR is a convenient shopping center, from there it is easy to get to anywhere u want to explore.There are free Shuttle to Great World City ( shopping without the crowd of Orchard road)from China Town Station.Avoid Eyebrow weaving and foot reflexology run by CHINA nationals !!!

Convenince in terms of public transport. ie, Bus - just right in front of the hotel, you will see the bus station. lifts are too small. Should have more convience stores for customers. Reasonable price, the hotel is clean and the staff also very friendly and helpful. The location is nice to go to Orchard Road and Nowena Square and United Square. It is very easy by walking distance you will able to look for nice food and shopping mall. The hotel doesn't has more chooses of in house restaurant, so you have to search or hunt your food outside the hotel. the room is comfortable enough though the hotel is a bit aging. But its cleanliness will satisfy me enough. The time when i stayed in the hotel,1 out of 3 lifts was under construction which cause us and others customers to wait for a period of time for the 2 lifts. Lifts are small so need to wait for few round to get your turn. In summary, I will go back to Royal hotel if i am going to Sg again.

-No hose for toilet The hotel staff should be more courteous and also explain to customer on hotel facilities especially parking. No hose inside the toilet makes it difficult who needs to use water instead of toilet paper. No complimentary newspaper. Clean & spacious deluxe room
Restaurant Tip : Take taxi to the Newton Circus Hawker Center for reasonable priced food

-Direct bus to Orchard from bus stop in front of hotel
-Big spacious room The hotel is so near to Orchard Rd. We took a bus from the bus stop in front of the hotel to see the Christmas lightings along Orchard Rd. Other times, we walk to the nearby Novena MRT station. Above the MRT station is also a huge shopping mall. The room is BiG and spacious which makes it a comfortable stay

their buffet breakfast is one of the best i had. and about 8min walk to newton food court not that near to orchard road maybe 20min. walking distance. overall it was an okay stay but the breakfast for me was the highlight the swiming pool was small and not very attractive at most i would rate it as only a 3 star hotel. it is far from orchard road. their are two malls nearby just a 5 minute walk and that is great also.

close to orchard road and surprisingly quietier tthan city hustle bustle View from the rooms are not good as there are high rise buiidings in the vicinity check in took time, the staff gave uncleaned room but prompltly apologised and offered another room. Overall a good budget hotel nearer to city

Hotel is quite near Novena MRT and shopping malls like Velocity and United Square. Eating out is not a problem either with much choice of local food and restaurants nearby. Price is reasonable considering the location of the hotel (city center). Do not take rooms on the top floors. There's a KTV / Disco at the top floor which is 16th floor and once strikes midnight, the noice and the stomping can be very unbearable. Hotel itself is nothing to shout about and staff appears very businesslike. Overall this hotel is nothing we can remember fondly of except maybe the close proximity to MRT and some good shopping malls. There weren't any housekeeping during our 2 days stay, probably due to lack of staff. We stayed at 15th floor which is just a floor below the KTV/Disco and the noise is unbearable. The health spa was good though.
Shopping Tip : Nearby United Square is the perfect place to shop for kids' apparel and stuff. Lots of shops cater to young children.
