The Inn at Temple Street, right there in the middle of Singapore's bustling and interesting Chinatown, is a you get what-you-pay-for budget hotel. Nothing fancy, no elevator, no 50 channel large-screen TV - just a clean bed in a very small room in a small three floor hotel in Singapore's most interesting neighbourhood.

A thorough review of the quality and standard of the towels is required - grey, thin and worn is not acceptable in 2008 in the Lion City. The aircon unit in my tiny third-floor room was in the ceiling above the bed. Not too healthy and a bad head and chest cold was not improved by two nights under this oddly-designed feature.

If location, location, location and getting pretty much what you pay for are your main accommodation objectives in Singapore, you could do a whole lot worse than book at this small budget Chinatown hotel through Agoda. Everything any traveler needs from breakfast with the local workers at a nearby Hawker Stall complex, to shopping and the Mass Rapid Transit rail system are all within very easy walking distance. Convenience plus, atmosphere plus. Value for money.

Restaurant Tip : Breakfast at the nearby the Maxwell Road Hawker Stall Complex is the very best and most authentic way to start the day.

Great location, friendly service

No elevator, but that's all.

If you want the feel of the busy and crowded Chinatown from the old days, and a mix of modern facilities, very good service, and convenience that many of us seek out these days, then this is a good place for you. There is a lot to be said for a place that houses you for where you spend your free time/vacation, where a welcoming touch really goes a long way. When I do visit Singapore again, I would really consider going back again just to feel somewhat at home again.

The location was great, right in the middle of Chinatown.

The size of the room, no windows.

The location of the hotel was good, when I checked in the reception staff gave me two different room keys and just said to me one is for sleeping the other for bathroom. I was completley confused but when I went up to the room I realised what he meant. The bathroom in my room wasn't working so I had to walk to the opposite side of the hotel to use another just to use the bathroom which was a real hassle. He didn't didn't even tell me if I would get another room for the next night, he just told me to speak to the next recpetionist that came on. The next morning I went to speak to another receptionist and she was very helpful she was really apologetic and managed to get me another room straight away. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking a simple room to really just sleep for a night. Try to get a room with a window!

Shopping Tip : It's right in the heart of Chinatown and the MTR is just around the corner. Everything is close by, shops everywhere, close to everything.
