We stayed in Singapore for one day after a holiday to the Maldives. I wanted to experience Singapore shopping and following online investigations I hoped this hotel would be close to shops. And it was. The hotel sits atop a shopping complex linked to a number of other shopping malls by a maze of underground walkways. Plenty of quality shopping, just what I was hoping for. Plenty of jaw-dropping architecture viewable from our hotel window. The hotel itself is impressive and the room service was fast and tasty. We took a taxi to and from the airport - around S$25 from the airport and S$20 to the airport. For those flying into Singapore - the airport is an experience in itself - large, spacious, really quick service.

The hotel lives up to it's 5-star rating

I would recommend it to my friends especially because it's near the mrt, malls, the singapore flyer, esplanade, and many more tourist spots.
I'd like to particularly note that the staff wasn't very friendly. They did not smile a lot, thus making the mood less welcoming

worst meritus club lounge!

We booked 4 rooms, all in meritus club with club lounge access. I was disappointed with the staff, lounge and the food. I have been to many club lounge already in a different countries. This is the only lounge that the drinks kept inside the kitchen. And if you want something you ask the front desk. Sometimes front desk is not around. I thought free drinks all-day?! Food are limited... Also, you are not allowed to go inside wearing shorts especially boys. Even walking shorts for boys are not allowed. It's summer what do you expect?! If they just inform ahead at least we brought pants with us...

The stay at the hotel was convenient and comfortable although for a five star hotel, it really needs a makeover. It can be very noisy at night due to the design of the atrium and the fact that there is no double glazing.
