A lovely art-hotel. Well located in Chinatown.

I arrived about 1130pm with only one night in Singapore. The rooms are of different designs and quite well designed. I had booked one with outdoor bath but lacked the time to take advantage of it. Breakfast was mediocre. Better to eat outside the hotel. Otherwise a very nice stay.

* best feature - closeness to MRT, restaurants, China Town
* room kept clean & tidy
* good aerobic eqpt in gym
* included breakfast - limited offerings, few Western options to choose
* internet locked up one evening when we were there - took them the whole evening to fix
* no proper clothes hanging space ie wardrobe - had to hang things up over the telephone alcove
* with Singapore's climate a small drying rack would be helpful

Very good and homy hotel in the middle of the charming China Town area in Singapore. Good interiors and excellent design of lobby. Room was interesting with a small outdoor veranda and nice to stay at. Ok gyn as well. The restaurant is excellent. Very good and central location to nice and interesting neighbourhood with lots of cafees, bars and discos. Will definately come back and stay here next time I visit Singapore. Good value for money.

nespresso machines, ploh bedding, interesting & convenient location

the front desk took note of my preference for nespresso pods vs. 'unlisted' pods, but still the machine broke down (different one). housekeeper very helpful & when unable to fix, replaced it with a brand new nespreso pixie.
service this time (last visit was 2 years ago) seemed inconsistent, especially at the front desk - a few were of the very knowledgeable, friendly & helpful standard that i used to know. However there were many new (?) ones who either do not yet have the training, or are not suited to the front-line in hospitality. speaking to others, staffing seems to have become a real problem in the industry - the poor housekeeper was the only one working that morning, taking care of all the rooms in the entire sold-out hotel.
but overall, great location, amenities & comfort. brush up on the software & they will again have a flawless product.
