Just a tad expensive and water bottles/ in house movies in room for exorbitant cost. Orchard hotel is a nice hotel, modern, well located and reasonably well run. Staff seemed good and conscientious.
I have to say that all of this is fine but what continues to annoy me, and its not the Orchard Hotel alone that does this, is the two water bottles at S $ 16 on the nightstand. They may as well have a sign saying "get ripped off here". Its a turn off for customers. I would have more respect if they had a little leaflet saying just across the road is 7-11 and you can get bottled water there for S$2.00. Its just so "praying" on customers that its stupid and it drives negative loyalty... you've all heard it before.. yeah hotel was Ok but gee they try and rip you off with the water and the in house movies.....
If you really feel you just can't make it the 100 or so metres across the road to get the same bottled water then go down to reception and get the bell boy to go down.. It will cost you $6 for two bottles.. tip him $10 and you will have paid the same for the water but probably helped out a young guy in the process.
Rather see that happen than get ripped off by the hotel.

The executive lounge and features. Comfortable quiet rooms. Staff very helpful. Room not ready on time and lengthy wait to have it cleaned and prepared. Extra pillows provided in the room would be a distinct advantage for those of us who like to lie propped up in bed. The Orchard Hotel is well located within Singapore and the facilities that it offers are comprehensive. I found the staff very friendly and helpful and reacted promptly to ones needs and requirements. Using the executive facilities with the lounge on the 17th floor for a relaxing wind down from the days activities with cocktails and nibbles was excellent and being able to have breakfast in the same lounge the next morning quickly and efficiently was an extra bonus as the relative ease and quietness let one gather ones thoughts for the days activities ahead. All in all the stay was very good and I would have no hesitation in using the hotel again.
Nightlife Tip : One of the best and busy Irish Bars around is Muddy Murphies, it's located at the rear of the hotel with varied nightlife and other popular bars and meeting places near to hand in the vicinity.

I did not think I got value for my buck at all, and it was at the very end of Orchard Road, so it was a bus or taxi to everything unless you want to buy labels like Ralph Lauren etc. The few staff I had to deal with were not at all attentive. The buffet wasn't anything special and definitely overpriced. The Superior room was nothing special, the size and amenities were the basic I would expect.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The yellow bus hopper all day ticket for $13.00 was great value to see the whole city area and the bus stop was right near the hotel.

Location close to MRT, bus station and shopping. Clean and well organised rooms
nice pool area. Service is very loud and disturbing sleep already in the morning. In total good value for the price. Location close to MRT, bus station and shopping area in the Orchard road. Clean and well organised rooms with relatively new interior. Nice, quiet pool area. We have not visited the restaurants or the bar. Close to the hotel there are a lot of place where one can have breakfast, lunch and dinner much cheaper.
Restaurant Tip : TCC Cafe 5 min from the hotel.

Well located, buses at the door, and MRT (subway) four blocks away.
Good choice for me, I needed a hotel to organize my 12 days in Singapore, and I could do that.

Had a very pleasant albeit it short stay at this hotel as it was an overnight stay to break our journey from Sydney to London.
The hotel was very accommodating and without asking provided a late check out even though it was a very busy period due to the Grand Prix.

No explanantion of a cost factor for movies. Too expensive for anything purchased in hotel. Bed was terrible, bowed like a banana. Very average hotel, very expensive even for Singapore. When downstairs I ordered an ice-cream sundae and told it was $12. By time ice-cream was delivered to my room it was $29 USD, which is totally unacceptable. Wasn't anything special, so please take as a warning when ordering anything in hotel. Can go down road and have lovely lunch for $3SG. I would not stay here again.

Very nice rooms and very cheap The staff speaks pretty bad english. We think that the hotel was very nice! It has a modern but elegant design. The hotel is situated close to Singapore’s main road, Orchard Road. The service was also excellent. During our stay, one member of our group became ill. The hotel really did everything to help and this was greatly appreciated.
In the lobby of the hotel, both European and Asian food is served. We strongly recommend having a Singapore sling at the nice bar. The bar also has live shows with good local bands.

Excellent location, good value, good staff and nice and quiet (and dark) for sleeping.
Close to everything and good pub, club lounge on site with resident musical trio. bathroom could be improved - bit more vanity bench space and glass on shower/bath is bit tricky to manoevre, care needs to be taken to avoid slipping. Hotel Feature Tip : Irish Pub on hotel site was good value and good spot to meet up with our fellow travellers over a Guinness. Short walk to some great inexpensive eating spots.

Cleanliness, room design, amenities Lifts, buffet breakfast, location It was overall a 4 star hotel; the reception service needs to improve though. Would I stay there again? Probably not as it was a little off the main Orchard street and to the MRT. A little quiet too as it's to the end of Orchard Road. Enjoyed the Tony Roma's restaurant downstairs though.

The hotel is located in a very good area in Orchard road. There are lots of good food outlets close by including several nice food courts. The MRT station at Orchard Road is very convenient to get around throughout the island. High end shopping is also close by, such as Ngee Aun and Takashimaya and Tangs. The best shopping is not on Orchard Road, for good shopping go to Tampines Mall and it can be reached easily by MRT for S$1.50 only. Strongly recommended for those who wish to part with some good money.

Top location, nice and comfortable hotel; good value for the money, and breakfast buffet. Reception staff need training: very, very slow check-in.
Nice hotel, centrally located with lots of shopping and nightlife experience. Room sizes are okay and so is the interior. 5 stars again are a bit too high but its a good 4 star hotel.
