My wife and I arrived for a four day stopover on a way home from Europe , we had booked a Club room .
On arrival [ early in the morning ] we booked in and then escorted to the club lounge shown all the facilites , given breakfast and treated as VIPs. A fantastic reception after a long flight.
The staff in the club lounge area area are to be complimented on excellent and personel delivery of service.

Great Location
A few minutes walk to the busiest shopping area.

Good location close to the shopping and eateries. next to Orchard street but tucked in the corner it was a good experience overall.
Travel tip:
Non availability of Halal food in the hotel was a problem but the proximity to malls with restaurants offering it was a blessing.

Great location but noisy room

The service is good but the room has defect the lamp makes a non stop irritating noise the maintenance came and said that the lamp when on makes the noise and it happens in all rooms and he cannot do anything about it. As for the breakfast it used to be good now it is bad the service staff is really bad. But the Chinese restaurant is good, the food and service is good. Bell man and front desk are friendly. The Glass at the bathtub is not good as it needs to swing open and still has lots of water dripping onto the floor.
Restaurant Tip:
The Chinese restaurant has great roast duck.

It's a good overnight stay especially if your plan is to explore Orchard Road.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
For first time traveller, do your research and review first especially if your doing it on your own. Singapore is a tourist-friendly country.

The hotel is well located within walking distance to shopping area. lots of transport and buses are well maintained. The foods are great and ambiance in the hotel is cheerful with lots of english speaking stuff. However, the next door shopping arcade is not well presented as there only few tenants occupying the place...
Nightlife Tip:
within close proximity to nightlife. although we never tried up to the early morning.. the place seem secured to walked around the area.

a hotel with central location

its a very nice experience to stay in orchard hotel. everything is within reach. though we didn't took its food ( a food court in the basement of shopping block), other things were superb. pool was nice, but unfortunately kid room was unimpressive. for every thing i think its the central location.

Had to call housekeeping for tooth brush etc.
Breakfast very mediocre.
While waiting for room the bar was VERY expensive.

Central location but small and noisy room

Overall the Orchard was a great base especially with regards to the shops and restaurants. However the first night we could hear a lot of noise from the night club below. The second night we could hear the boom boom! again and asked to be moved. We were upgraded but it would have been nice to have some help moving the luggage and then when we finally got in the room the phones rang on and off but with no one at the other end. We eventually unplugged them. I would stay there again but would defiantly go for the executive and not the superior room.
The manager did come and apologize at checkout which was a nice touch.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Catch the 106 bus to Marina Bay Sands just down from the hotel, and go to the Bay gardens. Very Avatar and worth the visit. Go in the morning as very hot later on.
