This is a good hotel for visitors of singapore who are interested in tasting the wide variety of food in singapore. It's close to china town which is a popular place for food lovers. Hotel is stone's throw away from mrt station as well. There are two very popular jap restaurant right at the first floor. Since i stayed there, i didnt have to queue for it as i turn up right when it opens for business.
Duxton road with its several pubs and ktvs is also nearby for travellers looking for a fun night out.
The room is big and clean but the style looks a little tired. However, the toilet style is chic and modern which me and my wife are of praise. There's a swimming pool on the 3rd floor which is kinda weird. Feels like ya swimming in the heartland as u are surrounded by residential building all round. Not for shy people!

Good location, spacious room and friendly staffs. However, not easy to find the hotel check in counter as the carpark lift is not directly link to the reception.
However, great room and very spacious, very ideal for family getwaway or mini gathering or celebration with friends.

Hotel was excellently located in Tanjong Pagar right next to the MRT making travel very convenient. Hotel was also excellently appointed with many amenities, an in-house cafe and swimming pool as well as gym and others.

A Hotel Satisfying 4-Star Standard

Orchid Hotel is located in the Chinatown area and surrounded by various restaurants and bars. (It's quite interesting that there are many Korean restaurants in the neighborhood.) The hotel is very close to a subway station and thus convenient for tourists like myself who prefer going around the city by train. The room rate of the hotel is reasonable. The staff and services there are not the best though acceptable.
Restaurant Tip:
Don't miss out the Maxwell Food Centre, which is a few blocks away from the hotel. It has all the authentic and tasty Singaporean food for you to have a bite.

Not the greatest hotel but in a great location

For a relatively new hotel, they still don't have their act together. The breakfast and dinner buffet are less than ordinary at best. We had to call housekeeping on a daily basis to provide more toilet paper because they never left a spare roll in the room so if you only had a quarter of a roll left then that was it, you had to ask for more. The room itself was comfortable and clean, though the air conditioning never seemed to get any cooler no matter what you set the temperature at. Had to pay for Wi-fi which kept dropping out all of the time, even during continuous use. The location was perfect though as it was directly across from an SMRT station, which wasa great way to get around Singapore.
Shopping Tip:
Do hop on a train and check out Bugis street markets and Chinatown markets.
