new hotel with a good room size. deluxe room come with 1 queen bed and 1 single bed. perfect for familes with children. bathroom was well decorated and toiletries provided. with such a reasonable price and good location which is near to tanjong pagar mrt station. 24 hours convenience store are just a min walk. eateries are everywhere.

the orchid hotel is one of the newer hotels in the cbd area. (its right next to the amara hotel). i lived in the area for the last two years and watched it being built.
its a good value larger sized mid range hotel. the rooms are a good size. i chose a deluxe which meant i had an double and a single in my room. there is the usual tv and a nice shower based bathroom. its almost like a serviced apartment, in its functional approach.
the key advantage to the orchid is its location. in the first floor (ground floor in singapore) there is tonkatsu ramen which has them queuing round the block for lunch and dinner (its very tasty!) nearby there is a great hawker stall above the wet market, and you are very near maxwells (famous food court) and the delights of duxton hill, china town.
and for the adventurous you are 5 mins walk to the tanjong pagar mrt, which is an easy route into the main shopping areas.
i lived in the area for two years, and now when i go back to singapore this will be the place i stay.
Restaurant Tip:
Check out Salta, in the Icon Village - great authentic Argentinian steak restaurant.

when i check in the hotel the lobby was clean & simple but feel nicely.the hotel look new so i check wit staff just open 10 mth.the room was big & clean .the toilet look big n feel nice too.i fully recommended this hotel really value for money sin dollar

the hotel surroundind didnt have shopping mall.but u can find many hawker stall in market,cheap & nice.beside hotel got japanese taiwenese food too.7-11 beside too.MRT station just near by.

Overall, the hotel is one that I would return to stay for my next visit. Though not strategically located near the MRT, other public transportation are easily accessible. The room compensate for the MRT inconvenience,it is big, spacious and clean. The staff are friendly and attentive, and are always ready to lend a helping hand for any info or service required. Food also poses no problem since there is a food court located nearby, if one chooses not to dine in at the hotel.
