If you want a good safe overnight stay, this is the hotel. If you're expecting comfort, and can get past the 60's tired hotel look, you're fine. Meals are across the street as is great shopping.
Shopping Tip : Ample eating and shopping across the street. Good safe walking area, great location to the airport, and a comfortable bed.

The bars in the basement area as you walk out of the hotel have many girls who try their best to tempt you in for a drink - but always with a smile !!
Travel tip : Try the internet cafe across the road at $1 per HOUR !!
Take a taxi from the roadside at the rear of the hotel and avoid paying the $2.50 booking fee if ordered from the hotel desk.

Good choices for dinner very close. Shops varied from pet stores to the usual and were very near.
Travel tip : We avoid hotel restaurants when possible and left too early to experience breakfast so my rating regarding dining was required by the review, but not based on experience.

The rate was a little bit expensive because it was during Chinese New Year. Except for this, I am satisfied with this hotel.
Shopping Tip : About Parkway Parade -
It takes only a few minutes to this shopping centre on foot. It has so many shops and reasonable products. Several coffee house and restaurants are also available. I recommend you to visit this Shopping Centre to buy clothes, shoes and so on.

Stayed overnight in transit. In hindsight should have stayed in Orchard Road for a better hotel as the taxi savings were minimal and wasted by needing a taxi to get anywhere.

Check-out the local eatery at Katong infront of Paramount shopping center which serve nice curry laksa. Apparently considered as the best in Katong.

As we arrived 9 pm, very tired after traveling 19 hours by plane and train we were first given a very poor room with smell of old smoke, chemicals and wet carpets. We did not accept this and got a better one

We used this hotel as it was closest to the airport. It was adequate for the price but next time we will go the extra distance (and price) and stay closer to Orchard Road.
Shopping Tip : There is quite a good local shopping mall nearby with prices a bit lower than the Orchard Road tourist area.
