Tiny rooms but good location

Park Hotel is a decent 4 starred hotel that anyone who wants to be close to Clarke Quay etc should choose. Its superior by a mile to Novotel close by for example.
However its not your family hotel. the rooms are tiny. Not even enough rooms for normal doors to the bathrooms but instead they use sliding doors. Works fine for a few days but not for a 2 week visit.
It has a flatscereen TV with all nessescary channels. the beds are fine and the standard rooms comes with a shower not a bathtub. No issues for me but perhaps for others.
My rooms didnt have a bottle opener anywhere but apart from that i found what I needed.
For some reason i didnt see any complimentary bottles of water, just purchase Evian. Doesnt make sense but might be me that didnt look enough. Every hotel has complimentaryw ater in Singapore so...
The rooms are kept well clean and dont show much age. The swimmingpool is nice and has a nice view.
Shockingly enough there is no free wifi. Something you expect at any hotel in 2012. I guess they have gone for short term money here. Sure there are two desktop terminals by the reception but who uses that in 2012? Even the backpackers travels with Ipads and laptops these days.
reception is a tad undermanned usually two people and you can be made to wait a fair bit of time there. But its not a major issue. The hotel seem to attract a fair share of coach tour groups.

Pleasant hotel

Good location,away from the busy Orchard Road. Room, although small, is very comfortable and had complete amenities and clean.

Lovely hotel with a lot of problems at check-in

Overall this was a very good stay, however this was countered by a lot of problems on check in. In the booking request notes I specified I wanted a twin room for 2 males and I confirmed this by phone a few hrs pre arrival. When we got there we were told that no twin rooms were available. We were offered a queen bed for one night then change to a twin on the second which was not acceptable. We were then offered an upgrade to a room on the club floor but without club access which was fine. Except when we arrived at the room, it was a queen also! They said it was ok becasuse they were bringing a roll away bed for the other guy! The rooms were nice, but there was certainly no room for the bed.
Back at reception, we asked to see the duty manager but was told he was unavailable. We were then asked to wait in the bar for an hour while they prepared a twin room. Now an hour after check in, we asked if we could be offered any complimentary drinks while we wait, and got a free coffee. FinLly our room was ready, but when we got to it, it was on the pool floor, with a floor to ceiling window directly in front of the buffet, with see through glass! This was a standard room, not the deluxe we paid for.
Back to reception, they cheekily accepted that they put us in the wrong type of room and said we could use this to get changed to head out, and when we get back the correct room would be ready. Which it was.
All along, we had another two friends checking in with us who faced the same problem. All without much of an apology, and we had to basically beg for a free drink

Excellent Hotel with great staff
Fantastic pool area in a great location that is walking distance to great restaurants and cafes as well as the MRT

We had a fantastic stay. I often come to Singapore for work but this was the 1st time I stayed at the Park. It certainly wont be the last.
Nightlife Tip:
Go to dinner in Chinatown on a Friday night in Smith Street and then wander the markets

Pros:
1- the location is only 5 minutes walk to the clarke quay area.
2- room size ,ok.
3- house keeping is great .
4- pool is nice.
value for money
Cons :
1-chargeable internet in rooms .
2- not very outstanding lobby !

Great location
The location close to the river is excellent - nice pool.

This hotel has an excellent location close to the river providing easy access to the many restaurants in the area. The rooms are on the small side but are acceptable. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom has a good shower. There is a small but nice pool area.
Reception is often busy if you are unfortunate enough to be there at the same time as a large tour group.
There is no wifi in the hotel unless you pay but the easiest solution is to bypass the crowded lobby and head out to one of the many nearby restaurants who all provide free wifi and a lovely view of the river.

Great Location with a clean and cozy room

The hotel room has an excellent location, with close proximity to restaurants and pubs near Clarke Quay. The rooms are very clean and cozy, with a very nice environment. The room is well equipped and the shower area has enough room and bathroom is spacious. The UE square shopping is conveniently located opposite the hotel.

we visited singapore for a holiday and park hotel was great for the location as it was close to orchard rd by taxi and a walk to clark quay to eat and drink. great pool, helpful staff and will stay there next time.

Great location but normal and deluxe rooms are sam
swiming pool and Grill Fridays & Sat nights Lol

Starting at 6th floor (guest room) and days after i change to deluxe at 10th floor but surprise... are the same room, same bathroom, only furnitures details at walls. Why pay for 10th is 4,5,6th are the same room size, distribution and all??
