There were always issues with bathroom clogging, telephone not working or some lights not working There were some small issues, but with prompt service, I would rate it 3/5

The hotel has undergone a total makeover, and stands out as a modern and comfortable hotel. Location is somewhat off from 'downtown' meaning Orchard, but - neighbor to famous Mustafa Centre and located in Little India. Nothing, really... besides slow check-in but that could be for any explainable reason. The personnel did what they could. I was upgraded so that was a pleasant surprise. The Orchid floor personnel was very service minded and made the stay a pleasure. The hotel has a nice pool as well, not to forget when staying in a hot climate. The restaurant was surprisingly affordable, the food was good, and service also better than could be expected. All in all, this has undergone a transformation from former looks and practices. Even though not in the middle of things, it is a good stay for a reasonable price. Besides, a taxi for about SGD 10 takes you were you want to be in 'shopping heaven'...
Shopping Tip : Mustafa Centre is at the back of the hotel; a multifunctional department store with all and everything at very affordable prices.
A new shopping mall has opened across the street of the hotel, catering for multiple fast food and restaurants as well as a supermarket
