New, very very close to City Hall MRT which is the interchange station, convenient, and the area is full of life. The hotel is clean and offers the best value. The Excelsior wing is not as nice as the Peninsula and the elevator at this wing is also older. This hotel is great, get Peninsula wing. We will definitely come back again for hospitable service of the receptionist, the convenience of the location, and the nice property!
Shopping Tip : In close proximity to Bugis.

right in the centre of the town.we could not hv chosen a better place we would definately want to go there again,in fact as soon as possible.was a fine experience to stay and see the beauty of singapore

1. A stone's throw away from the Central Station.
2. Less than 10-minute walk to the Esplanade.
3. Beside Funan, an IT mall.
4. Accessible to almost anywhere.
5. Friendly staff. 1. Can be a bit pricey. So if you're in a tight-string budget, this may not be for you unless you have friends to share the bill with. Peninsula Excelsior is the place to be when you want your money's worth. It has nice amenities that is clean and well-maintained. The location is perfect for tourists who want to be always on the go. Convenient stores abound within the area so you have no worries in case you want to grab something to eat in the middle of the night.

Good location, good facilities,good value Lifts in Excelsior Tower were not working properly for most of my three-day stay. I was delayed checking out for at least 20 minutes as it appeared only one out of three lifts was working and people were waiting on almost every floor.
When I told the girl on the desk as I checked out that dozens of guests were stranded on the floors waiting for a lift she seemed to find it mildly amusing and made no effort to report it to the appropriate staff. See my above comments.
I have stayed frequently at this hotel and will probably stay there again in the hope that this was a one-time problem and that they improve their maintenance and train their front desk staff to take a bit more interest in the welfare of their guests.

Well priced, clean, professional and well located Accom in Singapore at the top end offers plenty of choice but generally at pretty eye-watering prices. In contrast there is a real dearth of options at the mid-level. As such the Penn represents a welcome alternative for the value orientated traveller. It is functional, professional and reasonable value so if you plan on using the hotel as a simple base rather than a major reason for being in S'pore it shouldn't disappoint

Good location, nearby MRT and shopping mall, convenience transportation, no breakfast, elevator problem. I recommend this hotel as comfortable place to stay as this hotel very near MRT station and also have a lot of shopping mall. I think this hotel have two building. I got the room in the old building and alway have problem with elevator and telephone in the room quite old and deteriorate and cannot hear clearly. Tower in my room quite dirty as there was something like blood on it so i've to call for the new one instead.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : BBQ pork from Bee Chang Heng is very good. You can find this shop from China town.

For the 1st time i stayed in the new wing and was pleasantly surprised. For hotel guests who have cars, the hotel does not offer a concession for parking. I stayed in this hotel many times but was never given rooms in the wing, so i was expecting to stay in the old rooms, which really need an upgrade, but to my surprise i got a new wing room, it's as good as the best.
The toilets are nice and spacious, the rooms are great, would always want to stay here again, convenient, for regular visitors the hotel should offer new room.
Shopping Tip : Excellent location for shopping, many malls and places to eat.

Right in city, within walking distance of MRT and Raffles City shopping centre and Funan IT Centre. Service a bit on the slow side. Hotel is conveniently located right in city, within walking distance of MRT and Raffles City shopping centre. Lobby was not easy to find (on second floor) and was hard to figure out the entrance to the hotel which was on one side of the shopping complex. Very conveniently located next door to Funan Shopping Centre which is a specialized IT and computers shopping centre. Bargains on electronics to be taken advantage of there.

Very neart MRT station (City Hall Station) Excelsior Tower with old room and very bad lift service We went there for a short stay, only for 1 night. When we did the booking through agoda, we specifically requested a room in the Peninsula Tower (as recommanded in other reviews that we had read). However, we were 1st given a room in the Excelsior Tower when we check-in. As we enter the room, the room is a bit old, the rest is still quite ok for us. As we go out for our lunch, we waited for the lift for at least 20min, there are 3 lifts but only 1 in working condition. We gave up waiting after about 20min, and we took the staircase instead. I went straight to the reception and informed them to double check my booking request. Luckly they notice that I had requested a room in the Peninsula Tower, the staff then let us change room to the Peninsula Tower.
The newly rennovated room in the Peninsula Tower is very very nice, very modern design, with a see through glass window, which you can see through the bathroom.
So, if you are going to stay here, don't forget to request for a room in the Peninsula Tower during your booking using Agoda system.

This hotel is in a very good location. The staff is generally friendly. The only issue is that you have to wake up 30 minutes early because of lines for checking out. This is seriously difficult for the people behind the front desk.

This hotel in a good location if you want the go around by your self Porter who on the ground floor was always on the phone. we would like to ask some direction many time never get from him. Good location for self travel and do some business as Bank around and walking distance to the MRT..

I wish there was a ice dispenser at the lobby whenever it is during the hot weather. There may be no free wifi in the hotel. Cable is available at S$27.00 a day (less than US$20). But it is possible to get free WIFI with wireless@sg. Try to register first with wireless@sg (google it). Then go to the Funan Digilife Building for access (KFC, McDo, etc) or to the Raffles City where Starbucks is located, then enjoy your free surfing.

Location, surrounding areas, renovated rooms Rooms that have not been renovated should have 2 star rates. The hotel descriptions that one reads about were appropriate. However, there are still many rooms not renovated and if you are assigned these rooms you will be discouraged. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. There seem to be more tourist guests, it would assist guests if a customer service person is availbale to guide the guests.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take a few minutes to get your location bearings in the surrounding area and the use of the MRT. It is a very cost effective way to move around Singapore and enjoy the sights, museum, chinatouwn, food adventures and shopping....

near to MRT and shopping mall. as it's also near to the fire station so sometimes will be noisy. overall is fine since the hotel near all facilities like MRT, bus station and other shopping centers. Worth for paying.
