Very pleasant hotel and well situated
Swimming Pools and restaurant good. Lifts were efficient. Desk staff good.

We have stayed at the hotel before and found the service to be of a very good standard. If we visit Singapore again we will not hesitate to use the Peninsula/Excelsior.
Travel tip:
Very central for getting around and close to an MRT station.

Superb location for Hop on Hop off tour

peninsula excelsior hotel has two towers, peninsula and excelsior tower, beside the peninsula plaza. it close to the shopping area and there is seven eleven across the street. the lobby is on 4th floor, space that connect two tower. there is a swimming pool there, an unique swimming pool because it has glass wall in one side so we can see people swimming inside it. i choose the hotel because they are close to a hop on hop off bus. i spend one night there just for transit and spent the evening on city tour by hippo tour and see the singapore from singapore flyer. it is great for traveler that must spend one night in singapore for transit to catch a flight in the next day.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
I choose the hotel because it close to Esplanade and 20 minute walking to the Flyer

Peninsula Excelsior Hotel is ideally located within moments of the Funan DigitaLife and Raffles City shopping centres, the MRT station, and lovely Fort Canning Park.
It is the best place to start the perfect shopping trip. Return to tasty food at Coleman’s Café and a favourite drink in the lobby lounge.

i am a solo traveller and i booked and paid more for what i thought was a premium double room with nice bathroom etc like they show on their website. they gave me a twin share which looked to me like a basic room which i was not too happy about, considering my name was the only one on the booking why would i want two beds. i asked if this could be changed and they said no. they offered to push the beds together and that is exactly what they did, without changing sheets or covers. i ended up going back down and talked to reception again, after 5 min they found another room which was exactly what i ordered in the first place. after that things were good for the week i was there, the room was a little dated with cracked bath and tiles but did not worry me, the shower was very touchy with the hot water but the hotel is central to the city which makes for a great base to call home. would i stay again, i'd probably try somewhere else next time to compare

Decent Hotel, good location, expensive Internet.

hotel consists of two large towers with the lobby in between on floor 5. this floor also has the two pools. we only used one and it was quite nice. the health club was adjacent and also looked nice although we did not use it. health club had the pool towels, which was a bit difficult to figure out (better signage would help). rooms were fine. pillows were a bit firm and almost "rubbery". bathroom was ok, but the shower is only partially enclosed so water gets all over the bathroom if you are not careful. view from our room was very nice. two of three elevators for our tower failed one day resulting in extensive waits. used the stairs (from story 14)instead and found a sign at floor two indicating "no public access below this point, please exit here". i pointed out this was a fire safety hazard to the management. location is good. a short walk to the court house metro and walking distance to suntec city, clark quay and even marina bay. no rooms accept 4 guests, so we had to get two rooms. there is better value for the money nearby. internet is overprice and wired only in the rooms and wireless in the lobby. you have to pick one or the other or pay for both.

the room upsell was good a deal with breakfast and onternet access included. it resulted in an 'upgrade' to a premier room. the larger room size was most welcome and the view was great.

the location of the hotel was very convenient to the mrt and also shopping centers. there are also a choice of foodcourts within walking distance that makes it convenient for food. the rooms of the hotel was also very nice and clean and modern. i would recommend this hotel for first time visitors to this country.

the hotel is a within walking distance of malls and mrt stations. restaurants and amenities are even nearer. it's a good place to "check-in" and move around singapore.
the skylounge has great unobstructed views of the marina bay area. it's not crowded, offers lots of privacy for quiet chats and meetings.
the hotel staff is always courteous.
