Nice hotel with good location and friendly staff
location to city hall mrt and surrounding entertainment, comfortable rooms

this hotel is a reasonably priced place to stay for a business stay or a day or two for the family. there are plenty of shops and food within a short walking distance. proximity to the mrt is also nice.

the hotel is located near the city hall subway station which has 2 lines (the green line and red line). the green line which is direct to and from the airport and the red line which takes you to the famous orchard road. the stay was nice, the rooms are decent size and modern.

This is my second time stay in this hotel, the price has gone up a bit, but I got upgraded to higher floor upon check-in. Everyone has been really friendly and responded to my request promptly. The toilet is clean and the room condition is really tip-top too. The sky lounge is also very nice. Nothing to complain. Really.

Hotel is in a very accessible location. Had an easy checked-in and checked out and that's because of the front desk receptionist was very accommodating. Room was quite nice and I had a very good view of the Chinatown, Riverside, Clarke Quay and the Boat Quay. Bed was comfy but a little disappointed with the bathroom. Small and no shower door so water ended up all over the bathroom floor. Pool was awesome!

this my second time staying in this hotel & i still like it. next year when i visit singapore i am likely to stay in this hotel again. the front desk staff very helpful and gave me a room on the excelsior tower block. spacious room, great bed! the bathroom is too small but that's ok for 1 person at a time.

The location is fantastic, be it for shopping, taking in the history, or meetings in the COB. The staff are very helpful and the prices quite reasonable.

Dated hotel, air con did not work

The air con needs to be upgraded, every room had a musty smell.
Unfortunately we woke up sweltering at 3 am as the air con did not work. We called reception who said that they would send an engineer but we had to make several calls until one finally arrived. Meanwhile I left the room to go crash in my teenagers room . The engineer came but it could not be fixed. It also smelt very stale and I could not breath well, I felt like I wanted to open the windows for fresh air as the air from the air con unit smelt so bad.
The next day we were shown rooms to move to but each one had the same stale smell.
Every room we were shown was brown furnishings and brown carpets...ok if you like 70's style.
We chose club rooms for the use of the club lounge but found the breakfast very poor, being on holiday we liked to eat quite late but consequently found that the breakfast had been sitting there for hours and was luke warm and stale. The swimming pools were a huge let down, not pleasant to sit by and one of them is glass and right in front of reception I never saw anyone in either pool.
I am still awaiting a promised refund for the first night, it is now over a week since we checked out and nothing refunded at all.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Don't go there.

comfortable & cosy room, easily accessible to MRT
separate elevator for excelsior tower

I chose Peninsular Excelsior Hotel after being recommended by a fellow runner since I was looking for a place to stay during Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon. It is located close to Padang, which is the finishing line for all running categories. The hotel is also easily accessible to most public transport - City Hall MRT Station is just across the street! The hotel service at the reception is excellent.

Good hotel and good location, but the hotel windows were dirty. We have to ask to change the room, as we had paid to get access the views and the sky lounge

Hotel is next to Riffle place, Robinson shopping mall...good locaiotion and nice to walk around cause a lot historical place are near by. Orcahrd is about 10 min by Taxi and it may cost about 10 SGD. Also can take public transport i.e MRT subway station is 5 min walk from hotel. Funan digital IT mall is next to the hotel and good to buy IT stuffs there instead of going to Simlim Squre.
Shopping Tip:
Good area...a lot shopping malls arond
