Nice 4 star hotel but a bit pricy

the hotel was reasonable for a 4 star standard, but rather expensive for this standard.i feel that with only a little extra, we could have found a 5 star hotel. bedroom and bathroom were fine (again, for 4 star standard)although a bit smaller than i might have expected.a small but reasonably-equipped gym.
not a comment about the stay but rather about this website. i was unable to submit this review unless i commented on the food/dining. since we did not use the hotel diniing facilities, i have no comment to make. in order to send the review, i therefore wrote some (totally meaaningless) number. however, i suggest that you give the option for reviewers not to fill in certain fields to prevent this happening.

The room was clean and tidy.The only complaint was an odour coming from the drain vent on the bathroom floor.It was covered in masking tape,so someone else must have noticed it also.Closing the bathroom door helped.

The Peninsular-Excelsior Hotel in Coleman Street, near to the St. Andrews cathedral is a very convenient place to stay in Singapore - it is easy to get to by taxi, or train or shuttle. By train (the MRT) is it a short walk from Town Hall station. The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and the Coleman cafe is a nice place to have breakfast.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The hotel staff a friendly and very cooperative, providing good advice able local attractions and transport options. The room are well appointed, very clean, the rooms are well maintained as are all other areas of the hotel well maintained. There are two swimming pools, a gym and the reception area bar is a good place to meet people or have a quiet drink.

I wish to see the sky park form my room, but reception said my room is not in that level. However,from the room i still have a good view of Singapore's night. Don't like the bed in twin bed room. The King size bed room's bed is much more comfortable. The other way around for the toilet in these tow kinds of rooms.

walk from peninsula excelsior toward mrt station at central (clark quay station), the opposite site is one 'bak khu tae' restaurant...the taste is very good

we just used the peninsula as an overnight stop over in singapore, however the stay was very enjoyable.
the staff were very helpful with late checkin and early departure, helping with getting taxis etc.
the room was very comfortable, good size and well airconditioned. all areas were clean and well maintained.
pool and other amenities were well cared for and accessible.

I have stayed at the Peninsular Excelsior before and so I knew I would have a pleasant stay as the service is always excellent.The rooms are very clean and comfortable.Excellent location, close to City Hall station and within walking distance of the river and Clarke Quay restaurants.
Travel tip:
Recommend Ricciotti restaurant on Clarke Quay, 5 minutes walk from hotel.

The hotel interior is better in the inside. I believe it has been renovated recently. At the price I paid I would say it's value for money since it's at the business district. Walking distance to city hall mrt, raffles city and suntec city. Their pool and the room view are decent.
